However, I haven't applied for the health summary but I was also looking for it and it seems the correct one.
Let me know how it goes for you as I am also based in BC and will need to fill this in the coming weeks.

Hi,
I've seen people having to provide health records. As my application is urgent I thought it would be a good idea to request it before IRCC asks for it. I'm just wondering if this is the right way to do it (see below)? Can someone confirm/point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Hi,

Why don't you give them a call and check whether they can provide you with electronic health records smth. that SK & ON do. 6 weeks + mailing time is long if you are urgent. However, that is the right form to be completed.

Because I have huge phone fear haha. But you're right, that is the right thing to do and I will do that. My application is still in process and I'm not counting on it moving that fast, just want to be prepared so at least I am not the reason it is taking longer

Just for anyone reading this. I did call and they told me there is no way of speeding up the process
Thank you for letting us know! If you don’t mind me asking, all we we need to do is fill out that form and mail it? . And do you know which period should the records cover? Would that be the 5 years prior to the day you submitted your application?

Yes that's what I got from it. I entered the day I got to Canada as there wouldn't be any from before that. If you have been in Canada longer than the 5 year, I would do the 5 year eligibility period

Hi,

Glad you called and got clarification. The eligibility period should be from the date you received your BC Health Card to date. I am also planning to apply for MSP claim history but don't know if they mail out of province as I currently reside in Ontario. Noticed, that if you want to mail them directly to IRCC there's a fee, but if you get them for yourself it is free.

The eligibility period should be from the date you received your BC Health Card to date.
There will be a gap of 2-3 months from the landing date to receiving BC health card.
If you consider the BC health card receiving date as the start date then how would you cover the gap?

Hi,

Do you think IRCC is not aware of the waiting period?

I am not claiming anything. I am just asking a question and in my opinion, the health summary should indicate the start date as the landing date to avoid any confusion. I am saying this from my experience that govt employees don't consider what they think, they go by the rule. Again not saying that you are wrong or they don't know anything.

I applied for my health records for the entirety of my eligibility period (from 2015 - 2019). I wasn't even in Canada from 2015 to mid 2017.

The reason for this is because I saw at least one post where an applicant was requested this document for the entirety of the eligibility period but the requests after that seemed to be between date you became PR and the date you signed your application.

To be on the safer side, I ordered it for the entirety of my eligibility period and I received them.

Note that this was in Ontario.

Yes, it is always good to be on the safer side.
One question, did they mention the same period in the summary you requested for OR they went by their record generation date?

Well, they are very well aware that most of the provinces not to say all do not provide coverage from day 1. Also, provincial health won't be able to provide claims history from day one. At the end of the day IRCC officials are human beings just like me and you, and a nice one pager explanation and/or body email providing proof from the province authorities (include link if possible) that there's a waiting period of 90 days (or if you can provide proof of private insurance which I doubt most of us don't have) would suffice. Aside from health summary you are supposed to provide other documentation like lease, paystubs or children school report cards so you'll be covered anyway. Cheers!

There were 2 options for the end date. I chose 'The date the application is processed'. So the period that shows up on the report is from the first date of eligibility period to a date in Jan 2021 (end date) (which is well beyond the date of the last day of eligibility period).
