  • We’re working at full capacity to process applications.
    • You may experience delays in processing because we have a backlog of applications due to COVID-19.
  • We have started processing applications received the week of August 12, 2020
All other Express Entry applications in process

  • We have limited capacity to process applications and you may experience a delay.
  • We’ll update this when timelines become available.

"We have started processing applications received the week of August 12, 2020"

Week of 12th August - 10th was a Monday and 12th was a Wednesday.
Why not just write 'the week of 10th August' instead?

I say this because my AOR is 10th August lol.

A blissful day to all!
My wife (PR, sponsor) submitted our paper documents through canada post last week of August 2020. Until now, we haven't receive any notification or AOR from IRCC. Do you have any latest updates about the processing of spouse visa sponsorships for August 2020? Please enlighten me what is really happening with the processing of spouse visa sponsorship. I am worried. Thank you!

My friend was in a similar situation - they've applied in late March and were waiting for a response for more than 6 months. I don't think this timeline is representative right now, as many offices were temporarily closed, but looks like the situation doesn't change a lot.

Hi @legalfalcon
My AOR is Aug 14th.
I contacted the Mexico City office where my file is and asked for a status update on eligibility, criminality and security.
I got a reply saying “Your application is in queue for review.” - does this mean nothing has started on my file?
I am just a little anxious as I was previously denied in 2019 due to my job letter not listing my duties as per NOC I applied for. I corrected that error but very anxious about this new application.
Thank you in advance

Such statements are usually confusing. However, it would mean that it is in queue for eligibility, or your eligibility is recommended passed and awaiting a review by an officer.

Instead you can send a webform and ask or request your GCMS notes to get the details.

How to decipher webform responses, see https://bit.ly/39LoiYu

Hi @legalfalcon

Hope you are doing well. I just want to know that I have crossed 90% timeframe in my file and they havent started my eligibility so far and upon asking the ircc agents over the phone, they said that everything else is under process and eligibility hasn’t started yet. Could this be possible. I am a PNP applicant and my AoR-8 August.

Thanks

Yes. The status bar is just time elapsed and does not correlate to the actual processing of your application.

In 2019, i.e. pre-COVD it took an average of 9 months for FSW and PNP applications to be processed. Now it will take much longer.

Also, as of Jan 19, 2021 IRCC announced they are back on track with CEC being processed at full capacity, for all other applications there are delays.

How long did it take to process an Express Entry application?
Table 35 displays the time, in months, that IRCC took to process 80% of applications under each program. In 2019, IRCC did not meet the processing standard of finalizing 80% of all applications sourced via Express Entry within six months. The processing time for Express Entry, overall, was eight months. As an alternative measure of processing times, 60% of applications finalized in the 12-month period ending on December 31, 2019, were completed within the six-month service standard.

Data is operational and as such should be considered preliminary and subject to change.

  • Processing times refer to the time in which 80% of applications were finalized by IRCC. The processing time is measured from the day a complete application is received until the time a final decision is made by an immigration officer.
