In GCMS notes, I could see the case was approved in last week of November and application was transferred to Local visa office, but there were no updates in online account.

The online account shows that the a final decision was made on Jan 12 and same is the approval date.
i see. i got it approved in gcms notes back in end of Oct. but nothing happened after. Hope the good news will come soon. thanks!

Hi guys
I've been tracking this thread since July I think...I was hoping to get to write something hopeful on this thread but.... it's devastating.

AOR June 29th 2020
Bio completed Oct 20th 2020

other wise, nothing is passed or updated online

I haven't been updated since Aug about medical exam passed

It's been very frustrating
cuz I've been calling IRCC every week and they always say the same thing.... and even what they told me is the same shit on my GCMS note which was provided on Oct 2020.
"eligibilty recommend pass
security not started
criminality in progress"

Can you guys believe that they havent touched on my application
since October of last year..?

At this point, I just wanna go die..
I have the same timelines and Status. Got GCMS notes today . No update on my application since Oct post eligibility marked as Recommended passed.

First, please don't just "wanna go die"...

We're all in the same boat! Mine was Recommended Pass since October 23 and just last week it was changed "pass". I was so happy that I forgot to ask about security and criminality. Check my signature for more on my timeline.

They are working. Sure, some processes are going faster than others, but I can only imagine what the officers are going trough... Did any of them got COVID? Their families? Have they lost anyone? I can only imagine...

Hang in there. Keep healthy. Your time will come.

I'm not "just saying" this. I got rejected on 2020, fixed my mistake and applied again. Of course, my heart dropped when I saw that I was rejected after over 100 days of processing, but the only thing I could do was fix my mistake and move on.

You've applied 3 days after me. You should get a Ghost Update soon!
If you don't mind, could you tell the reason why your application was rejected?
Thanks

IRCC recently published the data and I crunched it:

Thanks for sharing this, these numbers look quite interesting. Would you mind answering couple of questions on this please?

1. Why do you think the applications submitted numbers have dropped off so much in the second half of 2020 despite the very high ITA numbers? Are people invited to apply not applying due to whatever reason?
2. When we compare the difference in visas issued between 2020 and 2019, there definitely seems to be a rapid improvement towards the end of 2020. IRCC seems to be catching up quickly on the backlog (especially if the application submitted numbers are really as low as they seem to be). Would you interpret it the same way as well?

I believe it takes into account all previous months - if you look at data for November 2020:

Applications received: 13,693
Visas Issued: 21,047

I assume the visas issued in November 2020 takes into account all previous months' applications and not just November because that wouldn't make sense then?
Thank you for the clarification.

1. In the first half, IRCC did not issue any ITAs for a few months. This is reflected in the number of applications submitted later in 2020. It's a cycle and when the cycle gets disrupted, the effects are not immediate, but are seen over the course of a few months. Also, personal factors are a reason where many applicants may have just deferred immigration due to the uncertainty. Once the 2020 annual report is tabled by IRCC, there will be more details in numbers and charts to evaluate and will give a much better picture.

2. IRCC is trying their best to catch up as the Canadian economy is dependent on immigration. Also, if you see read the transcripts of Parliamentary Committee meeting on the Immigration and Citizenship, where they discussed the impact of COVID, you will see that additional resources have been allocated to IRCC and changes have bene made. So it is a good sign of IRCC adapting.
