Hi,
I found this forum very helpful and thanks to all active members for this.
Currently Me and my husband (Canadian) are trying to fill sponsorship application and we got confused:
1)Are spousal sponsorship and family class two different applications or they are the same?
2)Should we send two different applications? 1) sponsorship, 2) residence permit?
3)Should we send at first sponsorship application ( I have read this info in this forum) and after 1-2 months we receive response and after we should send another application asking for my residence permit?
4)Can we send all filled applications and documents via mail or online? (I am so confused, sometimes I see people writing u can just sent via mail, sometimes i read how people are sending online)
5)We started filling the application and I think we are mistakenly filling documents, and maybe some pdf is missing, is there any list, so I can check if we have all of them?
6)We are filling application in my home country (Georgia), we are going to live in another country, till I get PR, will they ask me to go back to my country for interview?
7)There is question "if you live outside of Canada" several times. This question is a bit tricky for us. Officially my husband was living till July in Toronto (he has an address there), after that, we are all the time travelling, does this makes him "living outside of Canada?".
8) I know that mostly people are filling this forms by themselves, but we find it too hard, and we are nervous what if mistakenly we'll miss something? We asked some lawyers and it costs a lot, is it good idea to hire someone (lawyer of course) who can review our application with documents before final sending?

I am sorry for asking so many questions. Believe me, we googled a lot, but it made us more confused.
Any answers will be way helpful.
Thank you a lot.

Cheers

- The application must be mailed in. There is no online option.
- You must submit both parts of the application together. Follow the instructions in the link below. If you submit only one part of the application, then it will be returned as incomplete. Read through the guide in detail and follow the instructions there exactly. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/family-sponsorship/spouse-partner-children/apply.html
- An immigration lawyer will not review an application before you send it. If you want to use an immigration lawyer, then you need to pay for them to complete the entire application for you. Expect this to cost several thousand dollars.

Timelines are much longer because of covid. It may take 6+ months to confirm that your application has been received.

Hi,

I am about to send my wife's Outland application. I have a question.

My wife's surname on her passport is misspelt (last letter of surname is O) - but in all of her other national identity documents and bank accounts, the last letter on her surname is V.

We have created an affidavit explaining this situation. I hope this will not create any issues?

It would be better to get the passport fixed to reflect her actual name.

We just renewed her passport for PCC 2 months ago.
I know it would be better. But my question is - would this be grounds for rejection? Because we have provided evidence that the passport error and her real surname belong to same person.

Can't say for sure. If you decide you do wish to submit as is, I would suggest providing a letter of explanation that you are applying for a revised passport and will provide when ready, and then do it.

Passport is probably the single most important doc of your application and should reflect all key details exactly. So they could return the app. Up to you.
