Did your mother had given biometrics before? Or now they don't have biometrics requirement for visitors visa?Got visa approval letter for my mother today. No biometrics needed. So they take around a week after you submit travel itinerary. Visa expiry date is 4/4/2021,which is ok because we can always apply for visa extension. But I don't understand why they put a expiration date on letter ,given the fact that a person can stay upto 6 months without applying for extension. I read someone's post where passport was stamped(at airport on arrival) for 6 months. Also, general rule for TRV is that person can stay upto 6 months.
Thankyou @sb0821 for introducing this new route which I believe helped lot of people here.
Thanks for your reply.... it’s very helpful. Let me try my luck with work permit status ..@kool_suny yes thats correct. No biometric and passport request. I'm a PR.
@sb0821 listed a set of documents his mother in law had when entering Canada earlier in the thread which is useful.
Yes, submitted bank statement and that they are getting pension in india and need to return.
When you apply under compassionate reasons, biometrics are skipped.Did your mother had given biometrics before? Or now they don't have biometrics requirement for visitors visa?
Thankyou. Will see how it goes. It's a TRV, PHAC background shouldn't be a problem. Will find out soon . For now, we are good. Will think about it then. Also they have specifically mentioned in the visa letter, that in case someone wants to extend it,they provided the link as well. I think IRCC is aware that most likely people will file for extension.many many congratulations .. so if visa is granted until 4/4/2021.. I beleive you will not get the option to stay 6 months right. Probably extension need to be applied. But can we apply for extension on a PHAC background approved visa ?
Thanks to everyone for so much help through this process!
I applied for PHAC Jan 7
Got my PHAC approval Jan 8
I'm wondering if most of you who received the itinerary request received it automatically; vs did you send an email to IRCC with the PHAC approval? It seems like most people received it automatically.
Would love some input. Thanks again!
What is PHAC approval ? I applied for my father visa under Covid -19 but did not hear anything yet
On what basis you have applied for PHAC . I am looking for my father visa application?Received itinerary request today.
PHAC letter states: Validity period - 6 months. Date of issuance 12/16.
Itinerary request states: Departure must occur within 30 days or validity of PHAC approval, whichever is earliest.
1. Does this mean departure needs to be by Jan 15th?
2. Also is validity of 6 months applicable from the date of arrival (1/16) or PHAC issuance date (12/16)
Hi @Ajayparamesh : Need a small info when you submitted the itinerary to CIC did you book the return flight tickets as well ? If so was it as per the visa expiry date?@kool_suny yes thats correct. No biometric and passport request. I'm a PR.
