You DO realize a file can be lost due to misplacement INSIDE the processing centre somewhere behind a shelf or maybe it is in the wrong pile with apps that have already received AOR so its there just taking dust.
There are tens of thousands of applications filed away inside, so by getting a temp number it MEANS they have picked up the file and it is in que in the proper place.
Only once they switch to digital applications will it be 99.9% reliable.

Since IRCC provides this service, it means that we can call. It doesn't matter whether you want to call or not dont.
For most of cases, it may be useless to call, but I think this feeling is understandable.
There is no right or wrong.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to confirm how many weeks someone has to wait for medical request whenever your file has been transferred to another visa office?

P.S: visa office is Accra
How long do we have to wait?

My opinion a temp number means nothing. Yah states it there but still can be returned incomplete, and no idea when they will get to it. Sit back and wait.

I made a couple of typos on my application, and I want to use Webform as soon as I can to notify as such (the agent I spoke to even agreed that this is a good idea). Even though I now have a temp number (that begins with X), I cannot link it to a GCKey or use Webform until they actually start processing my application (and then they'll drop the X from my temp number). Perhaps I can create the link and use Webform before I'm officially notified as such. Perhaps not.

You can still send a webform with the temporary number. We sent a form using temporary number on webform and they confirmed receipt of it.

Tracking number means nothing because there's been multiple cases where courier service has said "delivered" however file has still been lost because there's no signature during covid.

we are in the same boat, waiting for case transfer to HongKong office. They received the medcial exam report last friday.

You can still send a webform with the temporary number. We sent a form using temporary number on webform and they confirmed receipt of it.
We still don’t have AOR though

Ahhh good to know. Do you drop the X when you enter the number when submitting the Webform?

When I clicked on it, it only said we recieved your application on so so date... that’s all
