Just like biomettics, can I also apply for TRV from UAE? I am in Dubai on a visitor status/visit visa.
I recieved my PGWP in Ottawa and my temp residential status was maintained.
So you have a PGWP and you don’t have a valid TRV/visitor visa to enter Canada. If so you can apply from UAE but it will take months to process.

Yes, I realised that it will take super long to get my TRV. I had submitted my application on 12th November, not sure what to do now.
Or
Shall I cancel my current application and submit a new application as "INSIDE" Canada and get it stamped from UAE once it gets approved?

Received itinerary request today.

PHAC letter states: Validity period - 6 months. Date of issuance 12/16.

Itinerary request states: Departure must occur within 30 days or validity of PHAC approval, whichever is earliest.

1. Does this mean departure needs to be by Jan 15th?
2. Also is validity of 6 months applicable from the date of arrival (1/16) or PHAC issuance date (12/16)

Hey there, looks like you had some luck here without biometrics, can you please state your timeline and did you provide PHAC after submitting the application or with the application.
Please let us know

Hi,

1. We applied for a visit visa using the instructions in the below link:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/visitors/visa.html

Step 2: Fill out the form
When answering the question on the application form about the purpose of travel, enter the following information exactly as written to make sure your application is prioritized:

  • For question 1 a) purpose of travel, choose “other” from the drop-down menu.
  • For question 1 b) description field, write “COVID-19” exactly like this (you must use capital letters).
2. Completed the below:

Link to PHAC Application:

https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection/latest-travel-health-advice/compassionate-entry-limited-release-from-quarantine.html#letter_of_required_support

For foreign nationals who need to enter Canada or are already quarantining in Canada who now need to leave their place of quarantine
Complete this application if you’re a foreign national who has:
  • not yet travelled to Canada
  • already entered Canada and is currently required to stay in their place of quarantine for the full 14-day period
You may apply for a limited release from mandatory quarantine to:
  • attend a funeral or end of life ceremony
  • be present during the final moments of life for a loved one
  • provide support or care to someone who’s critically ill
  • provide care for a person who has a medical reason as to why they require support
You can apply using the Application for Entry and/or Limited Release from Quarantine Form. Make sure you have everything you need before starting. You won’t be able to save the form for completion later.
  1. Fill out all required fields on each page of the application.
    • There are 8 pages in total. Clicking ‘Next’ to get to the following page doesn’t submit information or your application.
  2. Attach the signed Letter of Required Support Form or proof of death and a signed Site Authorization Form(s), if applicable, on page 6 of the application.
  3. Submit your application through the secure portal.
    • You’ll receive an immediate message indicating, ‘Submission completed successfully.’
You’ll also receive a receipt email with an application number.
Your application will be assessed by the Public Health Agency of Canada. We’ll confirm that your request meets the requirements for entry and limited release from mandatory quarantine for compassionate reasons.

Note:
1. If you applied for a visit visa already, while submitting PHAC approval: just select the option (applied for visitor visa) and enter UCI Number. You will receive PHAC approval letter in a day (through email) and You will receive a single entry TRV visa in a week (through CIC account).
2. My in-law completed Biometrics in Dubai but I think if anyone has PHAC approval they don't have to give biometrics.
3. I have not sent any email to CIC (IRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca)

Thanks

@sb0821- you have been amazing and very detailed in your all previous replies. I have read every word of yours and is very very helpful for all of us out here. Thanks to you from bottom of my heart and wish god give you all the success. I had below doubts for you or anybody else who can answer on this forum.

I didnt find a mention of biometrics not required for PHAC anywhere . Can someone provide a link or have any more information on the same ?
Getting a biometrics applications appointment and doing it is a pain. If we are exempted then its awesome.

I have few generic questions and would be great if someone can help me.
1) I am on a temporary Work Permit visa in Canada. Did somebody on Work Permit visa get a PHAC visa approval for his/her parents ?
2) How long can we get this single entry visa for ? My wifes due date is in last week of April 2021. I am wondering if we can extend a single entry visa once entered in Canada and so accordingly wish to apply for 6 months(Is it advisable ?)

@bkp We did not do a biometrics yet.
Many Many Congratulations. This is great news. So you got approval without a biometrics and does it mean we are exempted from biometrics for entry to Canada ?

What was location of your application ? Also as per above post does it mean you got a single entry visa for 6 months ?
