Actually the "house" is put back on the market! There are supplementary draws in the same year.

But it is not a bid system. It is lottery!
If there were any supplementary PGP draws, I never seen or heard about it. Maybe they kept a low profile so people dont actually see how many spots were actually stolen by knowingly unqualified sponsors.

I do distinctly remember that they had another draw later part of the same year when they found that the number of applications they received was short of the number of spots they had on offer.

Perhaps some of the more senior members could help me out here? @scylla @babybenz @YVR123 @Copingwithlife

The 2nd draw would be a whole lot worst odds of getting picked. Same number of sponsors that missed the 15000 applying for even fewer spots, maybe 100? 1000?

There was a second draw one year to make up for all of the people who got an invite but didn't qualify. It was very public and all of it was posted on the IRCC website. I will try to find the link. I'm thinking it was 2019 but I could be wrong about that.

When was the first time you applied for the PGP? 2020? You are very lucky. The lottery system started in 2017?

Just wondering anyone here been trying since 2017 in the various Lottery draws and still hasn't been successful?

Looks like 2017. Wow been that long eh?

Given the short period of time you have to submit your application you should try to submit your PGP application as soon as possible. If you were not lucky enough to receive an invitation do not give up and keep your confirmation number: last year not all the people who were selected in the first round submitted their applications and there was a second round announced in August 2017.

That was under the first come first serve basis. I wonder if they will select more than 10000 and keep the surplus of randomed picked aside to replace those who didnt qualify. Then there be no need for 2nd random draw.

FIFO was 2019. Not 2018. That article was for 2018 PGP lottery.

Actually there was also a 2nd round of invitations in 2018

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/more-invitations-parents-grandparents.html and what you said is exactly what they did.

FIFO was 2019. Not 2018. That article was for 2018 PGP lottery.

They have since tweaked the system. So maybe they do that now.
Yes 2019 was online fifo. I believe 2017 was fifo courier option if I'm not mistaken. I may be wrong. I remember the outcry over people having geographically advantage GTA had over those at coast of Canada. Courier offering high premium rates for overnight wait delivery at IRCC Mississauga office for 2017 and 2018 before it got changed to online fifo went into effect for 2019.

That happened in 2018 and we were picked in the 2nd round of draw. We totally didn't expect it and had to scramble to get all the information together. (We just moved few months before the 2nd draw and packed away a lot of the documents that we prepared back in Jan/Feb. )
I think we sent in the application in Sept 2018.

2016 was still FIFO. Courier to the IRCC office physical applications.

They started the lottery in 2017.

Yeah I remember you being around all those years back.

I missed the 2016 Courier FIFO. Started applying in 2017. All lottery. Never got selected for 1st round 2017, 2nd round 2017, 1st round 2018, 2nd round 2018.

Then 2019 became FIFO. And I got a spot.

Just wondering if anyone here has been trying since 2017 and still hasn't been successful?
