Hi,
I'm wondering whether anyone had traveled from the USA to Canada by road (Detroit-Windsor) and completed the PR process by staying in Canada completing the 14-day quarantine before returning to the USA.

Please share your experiences or navigate me to the related posts if someone already posted.

Thank you!

I am planning to take this trip next year in Jan but i am not sure if I can travel back to US via road.

That's what I'm concerned about. All the posts I see people are doing soft landing and coming back to the USA but I didn't find anyone completing a quarantine in Canada and return to the USA. Not sure what would be the situation if I stayed in Canada for 2 weeks before coming back to the USA.

Not sure if I can travel back to US via road? Is it because of the peak winter season you are concerned about driving. right?

You are right. Everyone have narrated their accounts about soft landing but not sure if anyone has actually spent time in quarantined and then returned back to the States.

I preferably would want to avoid the flights. I am ok with driving but yes the snow and peak winter season is also a concern.

With the flight journey there's going to be the risk of more exposure and requirement to produce negative test results and i feel it's a hassle.

Also, I'm looking for posts where people had successfully completed their soft landing through the Detroit-Windsor tunnel and returned to the states after Nov 21st.

Today i traveled to US. While returning back i was told to quarantine for 14 days. This is applicable to all infrequent travelers. I travel once in 2-3 weeks in the last few months but this is the first time i am being asked to quarantine.
Frequent travelers dont need to quarantine as per the cbsa officer, whoever commutes at least once a week.

So in our case if we travel to Canada and complete our 14-day quarantine and while returning to the states maybe this would be the case for us.
They might ask us to quarantine as well.

What is the procedure here in states to quarantine? They just asked you to quarantine at the place you stay or you need to install the app similar to Canada?

Quarantine only in Canadian side, not on US side.
Detail on quarantine: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ravel-restrictions-exemptions.html#quarantine

I was asked to be at home.

Hi Hari,

Did you travel back the same day. I will be travelling in the 3rd week of Dec. For the first time i will be back in a day. Not sure if they will also ask me to quarantine. This quarantine thing is really testing our patience. Huh

Yes it was just day trip. Mostly you would be asked to if you dont travel at least once a week.
I receive calls to make sure i am quarantine and being asked to report daily symptoms. Make sure you install arrivecan app ready on that travel day after you come back and enter information as its not allowing to input after 2 days.

Quarantine requirement which will be useful for you to plan: I need to be at home in my room without mask and can be in common room with mask(if others are living with us). Also i can go to front/back yard if its not shared by other house(or not living in an apartment complex). i cannot go out of house or for walk in public place for 14 days(Dec 4th to 18th).

Hey, @swan0206 I thought of asking you whether you have plans to do a soft landing. So you are already in Canada and in quarantine. Could you please share your experience entering Canada?
