Diploma (two years) and Bachelor's Degree (four years)

Hi,

I need some clarity on entering the education details in my Express Entry profile. While I appreciate experts for providing ample information for Diploma holders and lateral entry cases in this forum, however, while reading multiple threads, I was looking for the exact details to be included in the EE profile for people who have 3-years DIPLOMA & lateral entry to BTECH program directly in 2nd year. My scenario is -

I am holding a 3-years DIPLOMA (post 10th) and direct admission to BTECH (in 2nd year) and did BTECH for 3-years.

As per my WES evaluation, I got 'Diploma (Two years) and Bachelor's degree (Four year)'.

I am unclear about the education years & levels I should add in my profile. -

DIPLOMA
1. Complete Academic Years ? - How many years should I add - 3 (as I attended Diploma for 3) or 2 (as per my ECA report)
2. Time Period ? - Should I enter start and end date as per 3-years ?
3. Level of Education ? - Should it be 'Two years program' (as per ECA) OR 'Bachelor's degree OR three or more years' (as per the diploma I attended)
4. Level of Education as per Canadian Equivalent ? - I have checked the equivalency tool on official website by providing education as per ECA report, it mentions - Two year program. Will that go ?

BTECH
1. Complete Academic Years ? - How many years should I add - 3 (as I attended BTECH for 3) or 4 (as per my ECA report and actual BTECH program)
2. Time Period ? - Should I enter start and end date as per 3-years (not sure how to create 4-years start-end date) ?
3. Level of Education ? - 'Bachelor's degree OR three or more years' (as per the BTECH I attended)
4. Level of Education as per Canadian Equivalent ? - I have checked the equivalency tool on official website by providing education as per ECA report, it mentions - 'Bachelor's degree OR three or more years'. Will that go ?

Yes

First as per your Diploma, and once you select the Yes option to ECA and enter the ECA details, then enter the equivalency as per the ECA.
4. Level of Education as per Canadian Equivalent ? - I have checked the equivalency tool on official website by providing education as per ECA report, it mentions - Two year program. Will that go ?
Whatever is mentioned in the ECA Report.

BTECH
1. Complete Academic Years ? - How many years should I add - 3 (as I attended BTECH for 3) or 4 (as per my ECA report and actual BTECH program)

Just a follow-up question - it wouldn't be an issue if I add 3 years of BTECH (as I attended for 3 years being lateral entry) irrespective of ECA report stating it as 4 years ?

Not really as the final equivalency in ECA is what matters here. The points are allocated based on this.

I am curious if once I add the actual years I attended for both DIPLOMA & BTECH and provide the ECA equivalency, my score would be calculated for 'Two or more programs', is that right ?

Also, I have read many posts here on the forum and learnt that for candidates like us who are holding DIPLOMA & BTECH, their scores are calculated considering the level of education as "Two or more certificates, diploma or degrees" which offers more points than only selecting "Bachelor's". Can you confirm, if my understanding is correct.

Yes, your score will be calculated by the system based on your input and the equivalency based on your ECA. If you enter 2 years diploma and a bachelors degree, you will get points for two or more degrees, which have higher points than just a Bachelors degree.

Hi, i have a question. I got my BTech which is 4 years from india and 2 years of diploma in canada. But the ECA shows the Indian degree but not the canadian degree. Can i select two or more degree for the profile?

You need to enter both the degree and the diploma in the profile and the system will calculate the points based on your input. You should be getting the points for two or more degrees.
