I totally understand your point and I am not in the stage to deny any of it. But on a serious note, I have absolutely no idea why do they have such negative reviews. (Despite searching on Google)
I have applied for its MBA curriculum since the modules are of my interest. Infact, their curriculum is quite similar to those of Elite Public Unis.
I would request you to provide a justification or any instances as to why there are so many poor reviews.
As I said, I am not denying your statement, just need some guidance.
Thanks.
Hey, I may not know anything about this specific uni, but in the US (which applies also in Canada) students want to avoid going to the for-profit schools. The reason is that these institutions rely on financial investment and you never know when it goes bankrupt and your degree worths nothing. These schools have easier requirements for students to get in, which is not good if you can get into a stronger uni and better program. There is an art school in the US which had affordable tuition but went bankrupt and students were left in debt.
I would suggest to listen to our advice, but to make a decision for yourself. None of us are qualified to rate colleges on strong vs not strong in the eyes of IRCC. All we can do is to encourage and give suggestions based on what we heard or our own experiences. However, at the end of the day, the only people qualified to give college advice are the certified agents by IRCC

It's a for profit 'university' but while the US which has private universities that are well regarded, in Canada it is the opposite. UCW has very low requirements to entry: No GMAT, any prior education, not sure about GPA requirement but I bet that is flexible too which means quality of students is very low. What this means is that the educational experience is going to be low, I haven't researched the teachers who teach at UCW MBA but I can bet that their resume is not going to make you think WOW.

Besides that, UCW MBA is not known at all in Canada and you will have no networking opportunities while 95% people who do MBA do it for networking reasons. What I see is the UCW MBA is a easy, cheap degree for people who cannot get into good MBA programs and want to get easy PGWP and PR points. If that is your goal from the program then great but education wise it's a word that rhymes with lit.

IRCC knows that UCW is usually enrolled for all of those things mentioned above which is why is has a much higher rejection rate. You don't hear many people getting rejected from McGill, Western, UofT MBA do you?

There are plenty of universities that are still better than UCW that don't require MBA. Check the Tier 4 universities on the spreadsheet. Saint Mary's, Brock, etc. - all better than UCW

I am an art school student, so I don’t watch other universities. I know my field well and that’s more than enough for me. I don’t pay attention to who and from which unis gets rejected by IRCC, the strength of the program itself is what matters most. I just know from experience that for profits are no go for any student. It’s better to work harder to get into selective school than to just go with an easier way in

I am sorry to hear your refusal.. Get GCMS notes to know the actual reason before re-applying.

However, if I look at your profile:

Your proposed study does not seem like reasonable in the eyes of the VO. It is not a career progression.
Like you already have a UK based degree on Business Management, although taken in India it is UK based which is also one of the sought after in getting a degree, why would you need to complement it with Canadian degree of the same program (Global Business Management).

Whatever reason you have, it must make sense, show logical progression of your career. It should improve your abilities or fill a gap that you have from previous education.

Try to add more prospects in addition to going back to the same employer.

Goodluck!
Undergraduate degree (Duration - 3 years)

These notes are comprised of a DETAILED COMPUTER PRINTOUT containing all the information regarding the progress of an application. Every single action taken on your status is imprinted on the file.
In Layman's terms, these notes provide you the comments of your Visa Officer as to why your file was rejected.

UCW is worse than Humber in this case. You will have to get admission in a Tier1/2 university in order to get past that previous refusals. @tapperb has compiled a list of institutes in Canada. You will have to research which one suits you. Do not rush in to applying again since it'll be refused again if you don't significantly show a change. Humber -> UCW is not a change but show desperation.
Hello. I am aiming for September 2021. I have been accepted for University of New Brunswick MBA program. The program's duration is 20 months and in the second half I can choose my elective courses in the field of marketing (which is my area of interest and my latest job was as a marketing executive management trainee). Pls advice me if I should go ahead with this? Please tell me the dos and don'ts. Requesting your assistance.

Hey, hope everyone's doing good.

I had been selected for Humber GBM May 2020 (Defered to September 2020 & further deferred to January 2021) but Visa has been rejected twice despite being an ideal candidate. (Age 22)

Reason for refusal (both times)- {SDS Category}

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

1- Full year Tuition fees paid

2- GIC Paid (CIBC)

3 - IELTS 7 (WITH 6+ IN EVERY BAND)

4- FINANCIALS (ITR SINCE 2017 (50 LAC/Year)/SALARY SLIPS/SPONSORSHIP AFFIDAVIT)

5 - SOP (RESUMPTION LETTER stating I will join this organisation back after my studies in Canada FROM CURRENT EMPLOYER WAS PROVIDED AS WELL)

6- Previous Degree - Business Management (UK based degree in India) {Graduated in 2019}

7- Medical passed

8- 10th - 67% CBSE/ 12th Science 60%

Is it worth filing via attorney?
Requesting your feedbacks and suggestion as to how can I manage to get the study permit.

Thank You.
Do you have family in Canada? Why was your first application rejected? What did you change from that time.

Hey. No family ties in Canada.

Reason for refusal (both times) - I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

GCMS/CAIPS Notes for 1st Refusal -

Applciation reviewed. Client recieved a Bachelor in Business Management (2019). Client wants to attend Global Business Management at Humber College. On review of all inforamtion uncluding PA's previous employment and educational history, their motivation to pusue studies in Canada at this point does not seem reasonable. Study plan submitted is general and I am not satisfied with client's explanation of career benefits. Chosen program at the college level at such an expense is illogical in light of PA's reported scholarly and/or work history. Considering previous academic education, employment history, personal establishments and ties to home country, I am not satisfied that the applicant would be a bonda fide student in Canada and would depart Canada at the end of the perio authorised for stay. Application refused.

GCMS/CAIPS Notes for 2nd Refusal -

Application, documents submitted and GCMS history reviewed. Previous refusal noted. Applicant wants to attend Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning for Global Business Management. Considering applicant's extensive education and previous work experience in the same field, I am not satisfied that applicant would not have already achieved the benefits of this program. It is not evident why applicant would study this program at sch great expense considering applicant already possess a higher level of qualification. Client has a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Business Management. I am not satisfied that this is a reasonable progression of studies, which raises concerns regarding applicant's intended purpose in Canada.
Not satisfied on balance that applicant is a genuine student who would respect terms of authorized stay, nor that S-1 is not facilitate entry to Canada for other unknown reasons. Application refused.

Changes -

1 - Changed my program and learning institute - I am NOW looking forward to join University of New Brunswick, MBA Program. This is a 20 month master level program and in the second half of the program I can choose my elective courses in Marketing (which is my area of interest and my latest job was as a junior marketing executive management trainee) | September 2021 intake.

2 - I am planning to add a CA Report in order to demonstrate family ties. Since I am 22 years old, my father will be sponsoring my education in Canada hence
a) Sponsorship affidavit
b) Father's salary slips
c) Provident Fund
d) Income Tax Return

I am sincerely requesting you to comment on my case and how can I convince the VO this time. I am being extra cautious since I messed up pretty bad previously.

Did you apply from India? If you did then that explains.

It seem in India, VOs are less of Visa Officers and are becoming more of a god damned Career Counsellor. Who the hell they are to evaluate how career progression of a guy will be affected by a degree?

I will say, drop your plans of studying in Canada and try in say Australia or elsewhere. This kind of bullshit should not be tolerated. Also, since these folks have rejected your application once, unless you show some major change it won't be accepted. I dont think a VO should decide which program you should attend. Other option is to consult a lawyer and apply for a judicial review. It will be a time intensive process.

Its totally funny that a VO thinks he knows what is best for your career and progression. Top it all, he thinks that a person who once earned 50 Laks / Year will overstay in Canada and will work illegally. As if jobs are flowing like water in Canada.

I did apply from India but what kind of major change are you suggesting? I legit changed my whole program and institute. I genuinely intend to study in Canada bro.
