Frequent travelling or vacations every little while

Dear all,
I hope this finds all well
I have a question with regards to people travelling frequently on family visits outside Canada.
Is it fine if someone already with almost a year of absence and then come to settle in Canada, however, he wants to often visit his parents residing in Dubai as they usually require his assistance dealing with everything.
Is that fine? Like staying in Canada for 4 months leaving for a month to Dubai coming back so one and so forth ?
I have read almost everywhere on this blog that the PR has to be settled for the citizenship application to pass without a hitch, at the same time the rule dictates only physical presence so I am torn.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Are you concerned primarily about the residency obligation or citizenship?

Although either way, doesn't matter much. Your back and forth is relatively normal. It's the days resident / physically present in Canada. (I assume eg filing taxes in Canada and working in Canada?)

Your four months/one month split is not that bad.

About the only thing specifically that could come up is confirming your physical presence. Keep good records and documents supporting where you are.

Regarding the work, yes let's say the work isn't a permanent job because its hard finding a job that gives more than a month off per year. So multiple "survival jobs"

I don't think anyone would hold that against you particularly now.

I was thinking more along the lines that if your actual employment was outside of Canada and/or discrepancies with taxes it may raise more questions. If it's just working different jobs in Canada, should not be an issue.

I really don't see why this would be a problem. Between the moment I got my PR card and applying for citizenship, I made about 25 different trips, ranging anywhere between 2 and 50 continuous days in length. Literally none of those trips was for business - all for family visits and pure leisure. We simply like to travel, and I don't remember reading on any official government website that frequent travels could jeopardize your citizenship application. I declared all my trips in the citizenship application, and I keep a neat record of all boarding passes and passport stamps. Got my AOR, now waiting for the "in process" stage. I will let you know if anything changes and IRCC staff ask for some clarification and additional documents. Good luck and try not to worry. This year hasn't been particularly kind to anyone. :)

My problem is that its also added to being away for a year in soft landing so a lot of absences :( o dunno is thats an issue

The main thing of course you have to show all absences in the physical presence indicator tool for the 5 years preceeding the application for citizenship. Its not really how many times you travel in and out the country you can do that as much as you want as long as in the calculator you can show 3 years physical presence has been accummulated.in the preceeding 5 years

Once you have submitted your citizenship application you can continue to travel in/out whilst the application is processing as long as you continue to keep meeting the 2/5 residency obligation.

Only thing to add would be with a lot of travel to ensure that you apply with some physical presence buffer , so not to apply on day 1096 but maybe with a few months additional just in case your travel history is questioned for accuracy
