Potentially having to move back to country of origin temporarily until next summer, will this be ok with my Citizenship application? AOR is received

The economy here in Canada is very uncertain now and while I do have a job that seems stable, anything can happen and if worst comes to worse I might move temporarily back to the UK to spend time with family. I haven't lived there in over a decade and it would be nice to be around some family and look after/help them out during these times.

I put in my application for citizenship in June (AOR received )and now still have ways to go given the length of processing times. If I say do lose my job sometime in the winter and move away and back to Canada in the summer season, would this affect my citizenship application? Or would it be best to stay in Canada for the whole duration of my citizenship application process?

It shouldn't really affect your application, especially if you can come back quickly on short notice.

But ideal of course is to stay the whole length of the application process in Canada.

As Long as you receive Updates on your File by Email or Mail and Mobile ( Worst scenario during virtual Oath as they are calling now a days)​

You need to ensure the updates by post (mail) is received to you . If they request finger Print there is likely chance to get by mail as well. Still the tests can be done at UK too b approved Testing centers​

From the Current timeline its going take another 12 months to get update on the file either writing the test or Oath​

Lastly ensure that you can travel back without any restrictions ( No one knows how the lockdowns are working and keeps changing . Ensure you can travel back at short notice by flight hopefully they will resume their service to their full capacity soon)​

I am in the same situation as you; applied in June and received AOR last week. I am moving to my home country until July.
Agree with the two previous posts. As long as you have a mailing address in Canada and are able to return on a short notice for a virtual/in-person test, you should be good. In case of an in-person test though, you need to allocate two weeks for self-quarantine. In the worst case scenario, you can always write to IRCC and ask to reschedule.
Even if by any chance you miss the test, there is this rule on their website: You have 30 days from the test date to contact us and let us know why you missed the test. Write us a letter explaining why you missed the test. Send this letter to the IRCC office that scheduled your original appointment. You can send this letter by mail or online, using this Web form.

UK economy is also in limbo specially after Brexit. UK is more expensive than Canada plus if you remained unemployed, the benefits in the UK are being reduced substantially. Plus situation of Corona virus is also worst. You may stay in the UK with your family members but to be honest UK isnt a place to live in a long run. I am also British citizen and live abroad.
