And these are examples of careers exempt in BC. I was about to spend another year doing a Masters, but I could train to be a cabinet maker, Id enjoy that ! It is a shame I cannot come there to do the study and find a job.

You can come to Canada on a study permit provided you're willing to pay international student fees. Generally speaking you would want your planned studies in Canada to make sense in light of your previous experience and education. So not sure about the feasibility of getting a study permit for the above. The biggest problem with trades is that you have to complete an apprentiship program to be certified and these are generally only open to Canadian citizens or PRs.

If you want to come to Canada to study, I would strongly recommend you go for a Master's in your field and not a trade.

How do you get a PN nomination?
Each provincial program is different. You'll need to dedicate time to researching each. Many require a job offer in the province.

I meant if the job finished, does she have time to stay in Canada to look for another similar role?
If the job is finished and you don't have PR status, she would need to find another employer in Canada who will support her work permit. This might require an approved LMIA.

Anyway, getting back to immigration, another potential option for your wife would be to look for a research job at a university if this is something she has done in the past. There are some jobs that are LMIA exempt, meaning she could get a work permit with a job offer only.
Yes I will be out on my yacht with my Binos watching as well up close. Its a luck though as it depends on the wind on the day, but we can see 2 of the 3 race zones, waiheke tja you are speaking of will be partially obstructed of all 3, but still a good sight. Waiheke 35 years ago was worthless, they only had a ferry once a week. There are other islands in the gulf similar still that you can live on but are pretty remote. The biggest one is Great Barrier Island, 80nm from mainland there abouts. Amazing fishing and diving out there for Lobster (crayfish) and scallops and lots of Pelagic fish.

But they would give us time for that to occur, but if I had found a job, would my job not also keep us in the country?

IM not sure if its worth me trying to do one of the skilled worker roles and retrain or try to get a nomination or get her working for a Uni then I just apply for an IT Job.

If you are studying, you can work up to 20 hours per week. It doesn’t count for express entry. When you graduate, you may be eligible for a work permit. Your program needs to lead to career progression in your home country. And you need to,show strong ties to your home country. At 46, visa officers will know you are trying to immigrate. So you need a masters or PhD. Also if you get a study permit, there is no guarantee your spouse can come with you. She may be able to visit.

Thank you. But studying does add some points. So the points system is ONLY if applying for the Express system?

I felt so deflated last night, but really appreciate you ladies and gents trying to help me find away. I was up to 530am and fell asleep at the Keyboard.

I updated my post above. Even after studying, you still need to apply for PR through Express Entry or a provincial nomination program.
