My gckey got updated today to medical date showing for todays date. Got my pre arrivals on 27th october.
They only started processing your file on Oct.8th so up to 3 months for eligibility to pass, could be tomorrow could be 60 days....nobody can say its bs.
I don’t know how its possible but there is a Nov 2019 Applicant who got direct passport request without having ADR request. source: FB group
Why is not possible? Officers pick files they like...sometimes they like your faces or something in the file makes them very convinced or just want to make it easier for you.
If the opposite is true, then Allah help you.
For example one member on NDVO just got Pre arrival after one (1) day AOR2, can you imagine ONE day! What that tells you? Officer can finish Eligibility in one day if he wants, or he can take his time and maybe make you wait 6 months. I think this is the way they test marriages they dont like, so they wait and see if the marriage breaks down after taking so long to process without updates...

Yea, they took 3 months to start processing on my file, although it was transferred in Feb and received in July.
It indicates officer convinced rship is genuine. Now Security will be initiated.
Background is just Criminality - verifying your PCC certificates. This usually now is finished at Sydney. Security is initiated after Eligibility Passed, its forwarded to CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Services) for check on whether you are involved or ever involved (or anybody you know ) in any activities that are a threat to national security. If CSIS finds nothing on you, they will send a letter to IRCC with 1 word: NRT (No Reportable Trace) and IRCC can attach this letter to your file (ghost update) and then make DM.
Security can be a soft check (quick) or it can go into security screening which can take even a year or more to complete - ircc has no control over this part. That's why sometimes you see people waiting a year after Pre Arrival - it means their file is stuck in security screening.
