I have a 78.43% cgpa (84% cpa for last 2 years of honors degree). Wes evaluation was 3.5/4.0. But I do think that your SOP, LOR and your other achievements can work in your favour despite low-ish gpa.

Just read through the thread to get the gist. While I agree with most of what was said, I think this is program dependent. As a programmer (with over 16 years experience in the field), what you can do far outweighs what you have on paper. At least where I'm from and western countries I've worked in e.g. US. Might be different in Canada though. I'm going with Bishop's partly because I connected with a particular supervisor there, gave me an handsome funding, and I really do want a small town feel for myself and the kiddos for a change.

But the main reason I chose them is because my other admission offers are deferred to Fall 2021 and waiting that long will unfortunately have a negative impact on my short and medium-term projections and study leave planning at my current employment. The global COVID situation derailed my study projections for 2020.

Well you are both correct, the dissappointment comes from the high expectations of the individual. Almost every immigrant or student I've met has had a vision of what Canada was going to be for them and alot of the times, the reality is the not as envisioned. It is possible to succeed in Canada, make no mistake about that but it will require hard work, perseverance and struggle. Some will come through achieving their goals but for every person that succeeds, there will be others that won't make it

I have met a few people who think the same. Coming from third world countries, they think all western countries will give them a better life with minimal work and education.
They never take into account the fact that the reason why western countries provide a better life is because westerners focus on working hard and educating themselves at every part of their life.

How competitive is MEng Electronics and Computer Engineering?

I start applying for universities in 2 days and would like to know my odds.

With a 65% out of undergrad you would be best to apply to community colleges for graduate diplomas in your field. You will not get into a Masters program with those grades. Comp Sci is fiercely competitive.

65% from what university or which country? 65% from my children's country of origin is comparable to 85% in UK for example.
