Hi, hope you are all doing well. Hoping to inquire if anyone had a similar case and what steps they took to have a valid ID having lost a PR card.

1. Permanent Resident
2. Landed April 2017, PR card to expire on July 2022
3. Fulfilled 130 days of the 730 residency requirement as of Oct 22, 2020
(I calculated and I'm missing 50 days to fulfill the residency requirement)
4. Was supposed to travel on March but was unable due to covid travel restrictions from PH to Canada.
5. Finally arrived in Canada July 2020 to fulfill residency.
6. Lost my PR card
7. Hoping to apply for any IDs (Driver's License, BCID, BC Services Card etc.)
(Was actually lucky enough to be able to retake the Knowledge Test with my CoPR + Professional Drivers License (PH) + Passport(PH). Took the KT last July 2019 but it only had a 1-yr validity)

Asking if:

1. Should I apply for a new PR card or just wait for the start of the next rolling 5 year (on April 2022)?
2. If ever I'm to apply for a new PR card, will I be given a temporary ID or a confirmation document that I could use temporarily?
3. Any groups I can contact in the case of lost and found PR cards? (Just hoping that if ever someone picked it up they would have reported it, remaining positive)
4. What IDs could I apply for using my CoPR?
5. Any tips on getting a valid ID?

Thank you!

1. "Rolling" means that at any given time, you must meet the residency requirement. It doesn't mean that the residency requirement resets for you on April 2022. To answer your question, you need to wait until you have lived in Canada for at least 730 days out of the previous 5 years before you can apply to renew your PR card. So if you arrived in July 2020, you most likely need to wait until at least July 2022 before you can apply to renew your PR card.
2. No.
3. I don't believe there is anyone you can contact unless you know exactly where you lost it.
4. You would be best off asking this question in the Permanent Residency Obligation section of the forum.
5. See answer for #4 above.

Hey Any update? How much time did it take to get new card? I am in the same situation now and looking forward for some help.
