From today's announcement, will spouses be able to travel to Canada as extended family while spousal case is in process. What does today's announcement mean for spousal sponsership?
Nothing unless your spouse qualifies for a regular work or visit visa.

Aren't the IRCC going date wise? March 6 th people didn't get AOr and 11th one is getting
Wondering same. March 9 applicant here and still waiting. I read a while back that it depends on the officer working on the files. If one goes faster with theirvworkload then the stream of people the officer has goes faster.

I think they might have split the dates into groups...like 6th march people will be done by group 1....9th march people will be done by group 2...11th march people will be done by group 3...just to speed up...just a guess

Does anyone have a friend or family member working in IRCC. I would really like to hear from them how things are going or how they’re handling the new changes.

It’s a bit frustrating when you have no idea what’s going on but to sit and wait.
I spoke to an agent about 2 days ago and she wasn’t very encouraging. She said the staff increase would just ensure our files are completed within the 12 month timeline.

Also said she isn’t sure how they’re going to meet the October- Dec target as the minister announced. I don’t trust her though and I refuse to because it was too discouraging+ most of the time the Call center agents give conflicting info

They never give any accurate information to us.
Such as how to make the goal for 6000 case from October to December.

They don’t necessarily go by exact date. For example, my husband was a June 2019 applicant and there were quite a few people in June who sent in their applications after us that received AOR1 before us.

It also isn’t an indication of how fast your file will move as my husband received his COPR long before many June applicants who received their AOR1 well before us.
