Hi all,

I have a quick question. I received a Notification of Interest (NOI) through OINP but then chose to wait and got a direct ITA.

So, would my answer to the following question in the application be a 'Yes' or 'No'?
Has [candidate's name] received a nomination certificate from a province or territory? (required)

Thanks in advance.
No.

Im also wondering how they will continue as we will reach 85000 ITAs after 3 draws. The increased ITAs in the last 2 draws shows a different trend though. Could they be thinking about sending almost 100k invites this year since the majority this year has gone to cec candidates most of whom are in canada already. We will find out at the end of October after the latest 3 year targets are announced
IRCC has a PR target for every year and not a ITA target, every year this is same discussion and people keep forgetting.

ITA target of 85k is always an indicative target in order to achieve the planned PR target for this year.
Last year IRCC gave out fewer ITA's(2019) versus 2018 because way too many PR's landed in Canada in 2019 and thus they were on track to achieve the PR target for the year.

This year we all know the PR target will not be achieved, so we all have to wait and see the new mandate letter which should be out sometime in October 2020, If they stick to PR target of 350k people in 2021 or if they increase it, then accordingly the ITA's will be increased or decreased based on what IRCC plans to do.

Once again, hope this clarifies the doubt. "IRCC has a PR target and ITA target numbers are just indicative every year. PR target grows the population and PR target gets the money inflow in the economy" (PR fees,PR taxes and PR spending in the economy).

the total number of ITAs issued this year is now 74,150 . I hope they invite more than this year target. Do u guys think 4200 ITA is sustainable till year ends ?

I've been wondering the same thing as well.
It seems counter intuitive that during this period of highest unemployement rate in recent history, Canada would try to beat its record number of invitations. Kinda bizarre.
Other possibility is the fact that MANY people lost a lot of money in the last 6 months, either from stocks, investments or because they lost their jobs. So, MAYBE, IRCC has the data to back a model that shows a higher than expected number of ITAs being declined due to inability fo demonstrate PoF.

As keeps being mentioned, the number of ITAs is ultimately irrelevant vs the number of:

1: Applicants accepting the ITAs within the timeframe
2: The eventual number of landed immigrants that go through the PR process post-ITA

Hello! How are you doing? :) Yes, indeed. Securing a safer, more developed future with greater career opportunities is definitely a strong reason why I'm doing this. I assume for many of us.

Great to hear that you've enjoyed your time here. Did you come to Cape Town?

Based on your name,

Nice!!!! I visted Jo burg(holiday)and durban (training). And yes I am Nigerian.

You seem like a very pleasant person.
I wish yout the very best in this journey....See you in Canada.

Interesting comments there. This is the reason i feel like fsws are here to stay till the rest of the year. They cannot achieve the target with inland/cec candidates.
Based on the last 2 draws i think octobers letter would be favoring immigration. The minister has already stated that they are looking at immigration as one of the drivers of the economy.
Having said all this, the next draw is a game changer really. If its an fsw with around the same number of invites, it will confirm that ircc plans to keep the same trend for the year.

Hi All,

Got ITA in Dec 2019 and we have completed all the application formalities and submitted the documents, recently I added my newborn baby to my express entry application and IRCC has added my baby to my application within a week of submitting all the required documents.

I have seen my application status as "Application Updated" and within an hour it has changed to "your action is required" and we have checked our mail and our profile for new messages but there are none.

What does this mean?

Category - FSW | NOC - 1122 | CRS - 473 | Entered Pool - Dec, 2019 | ITA - Dec 11,2019 | Applied - Dec 22, 2019 | AOR - Dec 2019
