I would suggest everyone to drop a query about Biometric to CIC/IRCC. If the wait is too long, then PCC and Medicals might expire and have to go through that again which becomes additional work and money. Hope this make's sense.

Hi @legalfalcon its almost 3 months now but i haven't got any GU , is it necessary for any progress on the file?

Contrary to popular belief, not all applicant's get GU, some get 3-5 some not even 1 and get a PPR straight away. Since your AoR is June 2020, it seems like that you are on track and there is no need to worry.

You can send a webform and enquire about the status of your application and later request GCMS notes.

All applications go though the following stages:

R10
Criminality
Medicals
Eligibility
Security

R10 is done within 30-45 days. The eligibility is initiated and will see the first recommendation 3-4 months post AoR.

Also remember, the 6 months processing time frame starts after an application has passed R10 and not the AoR.

Does anyone pass eligibility? thanks!
Called IRCC yesterday - Eligibility passed by an officer, Agent said that everything looks good in my application and basically what's left is security and biometrics.

But as you already have Bio metrics from WP (your signature says that), Your application should proceed isn't it?

But it's not updated yet in my EE File, I read on cic.gc.ca that they had to make changes to some systems regarding biometrics for EE from WP so probably we will have to wait a couple of days more until it will be updated. Hence the delay

Some people also saying that the status might not get updated until your application gets finally approved. They heard this from the IRCC agents. So your application may or may not be updated with Bio status until you get COPR.

Also forgot to mention that while talking yesterday to IRCC Agent he wasn't aware about Biometrics being valid from WP in EE, he had to make a call to confirm that - funny situation. Still will order GCMS in next month to see how things are going.

My biometrics still show "We have not received your fingerprints. Check your biometrics request message below for details." Too. We are in this together folks stay strong!

Both me and PA has biometrics on file and it's reflected in the application from the start of the application itself...just give it time and the biometrics message will change accordingly

My AOR is June 11 and I’m in Ontario, looks like they haven’t started calling people in this province which sucks but fingers crossed they soon do. Also, do you think the majority of people would be exempt or not ( like us) jus trynna do some quick math . Anyways good luck !!
For example, I'm an Inland CEC. That means I had 1+ years of experience on my work permit and maybe done some Canadian Education which started 3 +years ago. That situation puts me into the position that I never had to give my Biometrics for Immigration purposes (Canada). Cause even though Biometrics for Visitors, Students and Work visas/permits started in 2018 for foreigners, it only started at the end of 2019 for those who are inside Canada.
Since March 2020 (when Bio.Collection stopped), Canada issued +/-55,000 ITAs. Out of those 34,215 CECs. Even if we say that only 40% of those 55k ITA inland applicants, it will be +/- 22,000 applicants. Some of us have spouses and partners (another person for Biometrics).
The good news is, even though our sample of 384 people out of nearly an estimated 22,000 inland applicants is very small and prone to a mistake, we can cautiously say that around 30% already done Biometrics in the past, that is whooping +/-7,000.
For the rest of us (+/-15,000) - Good Luck, and let's hope that with clear instructions now who have to do Biometrics and who is not, IRCC and Service Canada will up its game and start calling people in Ontario.

It's funny but in a good way! Let me start by saying, Thank you for informing him about these recent changes. One of my friends sent me this news today (Biometrics change) and ask me if I'm aware of it. It will sound strange, but I guess this is ok for an IRCC agent responding calls not be aware of this change (happened a few days ago). I know he works for IRCC, but I believe these days things change so fast, that even IRCC itself surprised what is going on. On contrary, we sleep with our phones, one said that he is postponing an iOS update, just in case, not to miss a call - made me laugh a lot. We are consuming immigration news these days like crazy, and it's ok, cause our future depends on it. I don't expect the same level of commitment from IRCC or anyone else. I guess many people from this place (including me) will stop reading (obsessing) about Canadian Immigration changes and news after COPR.

I'm not sure if the message will change until you receive your COPR.
I believe these changes are temporary, that means when the backlog is cleared or Covid-19 will be a thing of a past, they might move to the old way. Why? well, rough calculation says that whole Biometrics for Permanent Residents brings around 9,000,000 CAD/year (only for PRs).
Even if it's a permanent solution, smart girls and boys (ITs) have to write new code and update the IRCC system, so now it will reflect - Biometrics Received, every time when old Biometrics linked to the application. That we know is a very slow process (for IRCC :).
Congratulate you on the news that you Good for Biometrics!
