Apart from BLS, what are the websites people use to check their passport renewal status?
And which application do we use, the one starting with CAT that was sent about the police verification, or the one from BLS?

Thank you in advance.

I have tried three sites with two working and third not:

BLS website:
Current status - Processing at Consulate General

Passport Seva at Indian Embassy (https://portal4.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html):
This needs the ARN number of your application
Current status - Passport is printed and will be delivered shortly.

Passport India Portal (https://portal2.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/statusTracker/trackStatusInpNew) :
This needs the file number of your application with small letters ( Eg. cat098576340 ). But not working for me..
Current status - The status of the entered File Number is not available in the system

Thanks! The 3rd site doesn't work for me, but the first two do. Passport India Portal says "Passport application has been granted.". The police visit was just done today evening; I'm not sure if they're connected. Any idea what that means?

Where did you apply from, and when? Congrats!

Same thing happens when I check all three of these links

How long did it take from "Passport has been granted" to "Passport is printed"?

That looks like connected. For me, the the status was "Processing at embassy/consulate" for around 10 days even after police inquiry at my place back in India. Then I noticed the status changed to "Print has been initiated" on September 17 and then today it became "Passport is printed and will be delivered shortly ". Probably I missed seeing the status of "Passport application has been granted" or it is yet to be shown in my case!

Keep watching and soon you will see the updates about passport printing. Good luck!

Actually I never saw that status. Mine was saying "Processing at embassy/consulate" for around 10 days even after police inquiry at my place back in India. Oh I missed replying to that part.. I sent my application via Purolator to BLS Brampton on August 18, 2020. Application processing started on August 20, 2020.
That's great. Congratulations! I'm guessing they also sent you the old passport back. Do they cancel the old passport even if it still has some validity left?

Yes, I have heard that the old passport will also be returned. I don't think the old passport will be valid once a new one is issued, but I am not sure. Anyways, a valid visa ( like B1/B2 visa with an expiry date still not over ) on the old passport will be valid when used along with the new valid passport.

After the police check, my status is now "Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate."
Is this normal?

I just saw the same update on my application status. It went from "Passport application has been granted" to "Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate" after police clearance was done.

Yes this is normal. It took around 10 days in my case after police check to change from that status to "Printing initiated for passport"
