Hi Members,

I am applying for Canadian Citizenship. I came here at December 2016 on work visa and then 2018 I got the PR. I checked the physical presence calculator, it is saying I am eligible to apply. I have started working on the forms. I have some doubt on the below two items. If you can please help

1. Did you successfully complete the LINE or CLIC courses at CLB4/NCLC4 or higher from January 1, 2008 to October 31st 2012--->I have taken IELTS during my PR on 2018. Not sure what to reply here. I guess it would be NO.
2. During your five year eligibility period did you live outside of Canada as a crown servant or with your spouse or common law partner or parent who was a crown servant?..>.Not sure what is this crown servant means. in 2015 I was in India with my spouse so shall I select it as Yes or no? I came to Canada at 2016 December with work visa and 2018 I got my PR.
3. Do I need to fill up the resident outside Canada form as I was in India on until 2016 December?

Looking forward for your help. Thanks in advance

regards
Swarup

1. No

2. No <It is not applicable to most people unless you serve in the armed forces serving the crown, in which case, you can claim the time spent outside Canada towards your physical presence count.> Only if you select Yes to this question, you would then need to fill out the "residence outside Canada" form.

3. No.

Thanks a lot for help.

I have one more doubt. I came to Canada on December 2016. In the application form there is a question like below

In the past 4 years, were you in a territory or country other than Canada for 183 days or more in a row(since the age of 18)? Past 4 years mean from September 2016 to September 2020 right. As it is not 183 days, so I choose it as a NO. Please let me know if I am correct or need to change. I think, in case I put it as YES , I will need a PCC from India.

Looking forward for your reply. Thanks in advance.

it Is NO. You only answer YES if you had came to Canada after march 2017 from India and even in that case, you don't need PCC from India since you would have been moving to Canada as PR for 1st time.

Thanks a lot.

I have a question In the income tax section. it is asking Tell us when you filed income taxes for the last 5 years in the below chart--> As I came to Canada on December 2016, so for tax year 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 I am checking required to file and tax filed. But for the 2015 I am checking not required to tax file as I think it is specific to Canadian Tax right? or do I have to check required to file tax which I have done for Indian Income Tax filing.

Thanks in advance for help.

It would be No for both in 2015. Taxes are based on when you establish your residency in Canada. Not related to when you obtained PR or what the eligibility period is.

I have just applied and sent the documents. I have included the below documents. Not sure whether I have missed any or not

1. Two pictures
2. Application form
3. Current passport copy along with all the pages of the passport(Passport issue date 1st May, 2015 and expiry April 30th, 2025. Did not include my old passport. will that be an issue?). Also included the e ticket for the time I was outside of Canada after my PR
4. receipt of payment
5. identification document--> health card and driver's license
6. IELTS taken during my PR 2017 or 2018
7. WES for my bachelor degree
8. Bachelor degree certificate along with marksheets
9. document checklist
10. Copy of physical presence calculator.

Is this fine or I have missed something? I did not include the previous passport which have a history of travel to USA. I also did not include any other Indian identification document.

Please let me know in case I missed any document and in case I missed what should be the next step? Thanks a lot for all the help.
