I studied at U of M from 5 years, and currently working with a PGWP. It used to be a great advantage for international students can get after graduate (i.e., tuition fee tax rebate) but they abolished it :(
The transit system is horrendous, it is definitely a car city. If you take busses, you definitely have to experience standing in the cold (-40 degree celsius) for at least 10 mins..
But I think the benefits outweigh the costs. Welcome to Friendly Manitoba!

Hi you are there in Manitoba.. You would be the best person to talk about that province.
I am looking to know what is the advantage to study in Manitoba. I am planning to study in Manitoba. Can we get PR easily after study? Did you get one?

The cost of living is lower in Manitoba. You are likely to see less competition for jobs than other provinces and cities. One big strike is the extremely cold weather.

But guys, I really want to know why you guys choose Manitoba for study.. Will it help to get PR easily or just less competitive jobs? Why not Saskatchewan or Ontario?

Apart from the cold weather, I believe after 1 year of study we are eligible for PR by MPNP am I right? And what do you think about the availability of jobs in Manitoba compared to other major provinces?

I am planning for graduate program in U of M. How is the current condition and market for international student? Is this a easy way to PR after PGW?
