Applied from U.S.A - Fall 2020. Study Permit Tracking

I am not in Canada yet. My study permit was approved shortly after the March 18 deadline so I can't enter Canada directly from my current country of residence. (Hong Kong).

As anyone who comes from the US, including foreign nationals does not have to adhere to this deadline I wonder what "coming from the US" exactly means. If CBSA wanted to mean "anyone who holds US residence status, permanent or temporary" they would surely have said so. Hence I wonder whether I might be able to enter Canada by going through the US as European citizen and HK resident. I do meet the "essential travel" requirement so my last hurdle is to get around this dreaded March 18 study permit deadline requirement.

Yeah I understand. IRCC becomes a mess nowadays in such a way that holding the decision or even do nothing updates for students. Good luck since you are already settled in Canada during this hardship time.

I asked my friend who is in Canada to get this done.. there are many third party companies who can do it for u but they will charge u around 25- 45 CAD.

Same boat. Paying school is US an Canada. Complete application submitted July 4th AIP August 17th, nothing after that!

Why don't you guys try your luck and cross the border? It's not like you have a huge risk especially if you live in Boston

Same here. File submitted in March, biometrics submitted in July. Application is complete. AIP received on August 18 but after that no update.Currently working a full time job and doing classes.
