As I see they don't care if the applicant moves from Russia to the country where the VAC is open. It took me almost one month to get a confirmation from Warsaw that they had received my notification on changing my address from Russia to Canada. And I also told them that I'm staying in Canada and going to apply for the extension of my stay in Canada on TRV if needed until they give me Permanent Residence. But no reaction, no boost. They really don't care at all =(((
I’m sorry to hear that. I actually stopped waiting anything from them. It made me so relaxed. Did you decide to order the notes? I really hope to get mine in the first week of September.

IRCC and Canadian Government are good sources, somehow you see things I never do...
The site with "priorities" that Passenger provided just proves my point, unless you are an essential worker (not Family Class), if you are vulnerable (a refugee being sponsored from a camp, an orphan from an orphanage and similar), which your spouses and my niece aren't, and if you are being repatriated, not the case for your spouses and my niece.
Unless there is another source for this info, I suggest you are not correct
I am majorly outnumbered here.....
I haven't looked at that particular site so can't comment. If you search for Canada covid travel restrictions you will find. Or you can look up the order in council (official regulation).

They list what the restrictions are (severe) and the specific exemptions. The one relevant to family sponsorship is very clear that these are for immediate family members (which is defined).

To clarify(simple form) the travel restrictions say non essential travel is not allowed. It lists essential travel and some exemptions.

The phrasing for family is that travel to immediate family is deemed essential. (for the purposes of the covid travel restrictions)

Hope this is clear.

It sucks to hear you got the rejection letter.... Shoot.... What was the reason IRCC gave you for this?
Nothing really, just saying they feel we don't have a valid reason to move back to Canada!! The officer is very biased and I feel just does not like my husband. The notes my MP received were they wanted to know what I was doing abroad! I am a Canadian citizen none of their business what I am doing overseas. It is my right to be outside Canada during an outland application. Any hoping this can be resolved via ADR teleconference. I have no words anymore how much I despise CIC. So far the appeal board appeared way more efficient than CIC. We have been twice in communication with them in the past month. That is way more than I can say about CIC.

OMG
How dare they refuse the family, one member of which is a Canadian citizen, in their attempts to make Canada their home?!!
My friend from Uzbekistan got 3 refusals on her tourist and student visas to the USA, she was then permanently banned from trying to apply for B1/B2, F or M visas to the USA while she was single. But after she had got married to an American citizen (he doesn't have any other citizenships), she received her green card within 6 months after application without any issues. And now they are happily living in Miami. It was a couple years ago.

2 neigbouring countries but such different approaches in reuniting families:confused:

Hey everyone. I just got my CSQ (Quebec thing) for which I applied in January
So hopefully now can proceed with visa.
Can anyone give me a quick update on Warsaw office please? Do they work, do they send medical requests, etc or nothing like everywhere else?
I haven't been keeping track from January while waiting for CSQ.
Thank you.

Hi. They got back to work. A lot of people received AOR2 in June. I’ve seen one who got the medical request last month. So far 5 applicants got PPR from Warsaw last month (After the VAC in Warsaw reopened): two from Latvia, one from Belarus, two (exceptional) from Russia. The rest of Russian applicants keep waiting for Russian VAC’s reopening. I also would like to mention that an applicant from Russia found out in July that Warsaw didn’t get CSQ which was sent them in January. Make sure they received it to avoid delays.

Thanks a lot! Very thorough.
I also got 2nd AOR in June, I did not know there is 2nd one, I though it was a ghost update or something. My spouse is from Uzbekistan so she will be issued a visa by Moscow VAC too, meaning hello extra waiting time.
Oh boy, I collected all possible waits. 5 years with Quebec for myself, almost a year now for my spouse (and still in process), and delayed citizenship for myself again due to COVID. Murphy's law (zakon podlosti) loves me.

And yeah, I don't trust Quebec and just sent scanned CSQ to Warsaw via web inquiry form :D

P.S. I am from Kazakhstan but changed my citizenship to Russian not long ago. Wondering if it will delay my application somehow haha.

What was exceptional about the Russian cases?

This year has been harsh for many of us for sure! Good luck to your family :)

I can’t 100% know the real reasons but the first one who got PPR said it might be because they have an elderly relative who needs help. And the second one said it might be because kids and their mother are waiting for the father to join them in Canada.

Got a request for passport, though the status in my account still looks like in process. Applied outland, Warsaw was processing, came to Canada in May on TRV. As far as I understand, they just haven't updated online status, right?
Can I drive to Ottawa and hand the package to them instead of sending it via Canada Post?

Congratulations!!! I suggest you contact Ottawa to clarify what you need to do considering new COVID protocols.
Btw, was that PPR letter from Warsaw or Ottawa?

Congrats!

I suspect you will not be able to deliver by hand, better by Canada Post. Even in the old days most large departments had central mail receipt, with security and covid, doubt they'd let you walk in. (I mean if you live next door you could try but you'd probably still end up going to a post office.)

They did request you send to Ottawa?
