Hello fellow members,

I am new to this forum and need advise as not getting any updates. File received at CPC-M on June 11, 2019. Biometric done Jan 2020 and file moved to NDVO in April 2020. No medical request received. No update since then. I guess this is due to covid situation. Just wondering if I have to be worried. GCMS notes says nothing. TIA.

Biometrics collection outside Canada
If the site closest to you is closed, we’ll automatically extend your deadline to give your biometrics.

You don’t have to give your biometrics until the sites start offering collection services again. This applies to you, even if your biometrics instruction letter (BIL) says you have 30 or 90 days.

You don’t have to contact us for this extension, and you don’t need a new BIL to make another appointment when sites reopen. Bring your original BIL to your new appointment to show proof of payment.

That's great but make sure they will allow your brother to board as siblings are not immediate family for current COVID-19 travel restrictions as per this link

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/travel-restrictions-exemptions.html#foreign
Hey I have asked my mp about my brother to which she replied

Thank you for your email. As long as your brother was part of the application, which it seems he was, he would be under the same travel rules as your parents.

I hope this is helpful.
Send the copy of conversation as proof for boarding to your parents. Airbubble flights are only from Delhi to Toronto ( non-stop) but you can book from Mumbai to Toronto ( Mumbai to Delhi and Delhi to Toronto ( AC 043) non stop arriving at 5.30 at Toronto. All other flights available on travel portals are not operative.

Hi guys,

My parents landing visa will expire end of September. My dad was a principle applicant but he cannt travel now. Can my mom come and land alone for now? And maybe my dad can communicate for extension on his own visa date?
No, Both of them should come together. They can ask for extension for both of them.

An immediate family member is defined as YOUR

Dependent child
A child who is under the maximum age and is not married or in a common law relationship. Generally, to qualify as dependants, children must

  • be under 22 years old
  • not have a spouse or common-law partner
Note: a child’s age is usually “locked in” when we get a complete application.

Use our online tool to check if your child qualifies as a dependant.

Exception: Children who are at the age limit or older can qualify as “over-age” dependants if they

  • have depended on their parents for financial support since before they reached the age limit and
  • can’t financially support themselves due to a mental or physical condition
Previous age limits:

The age limit has changed in recent years. If your application has been in process for a while, one of the older definitions of dependent child may apply. Generally, we use the rules in place when we get your complete application. Previous age limits for a dependent child:

  • From August 1, 2014 to October 23, 2017: under 19 years old
  • On or before July 31, 2014: under 22 years old
Note: The rules for over-age dependants are different for applications that were submitted on or before July 31, 2014.

AC043 (Aug 18 to Aug 31 - Air Canada is flying 3 flights a week confirmed by both Govts).
Sept 1st onwards Air Canada lists 4 flights a week on their website SUBJECT to Indian Govt. approval; but as of today no approval is provided.
My parents have Aug 30th AC043 (which is what they will fly on) and just as a backup AC043 on Sept 03. So far, the Sept 03 flight is operational.

or, other options is
Air India Vande Bharat - Phase 6 (Sept 01 to Oct 24)
Check https://bookme.airindia.in/AirindiaB2C/Booking/Search for availability & bookings; and
Phase 6 Vande Bharat Flight Schedule http://www.airindia.in/evacuation-flight.htm

The Air India Vande Bharat seats are often blocked by Travel agents so you may have to go to an agent...OR go to the Air India office.

You also received MyCIC email about the ghost update right?
Ghost update means there is an update on your MyCIC account in which current status showing application/profile updated, but there is no more detailed update. When you refresh the page, the current status goes back to submitted. Basically, it only means VO touched your file but we may not know the actual progress.
