My MP said they can be closed possibly into next year.

My MP made me a little nervous and said that the VAC's could be closed into next year which means all of us waiting for PPR are screwed. They said they are only working on a select few applications right now to get them done for those who have been waiting but ppr and interviews could be a while.

We just did our medicals August 11

Gc key
August 12 medicals passed
August 13 interview canceled

Ecas
August 14 decision made
So happy for you!

That would be so frustrating and particularly incoherent knowing that many places are open to the public in Mexico City and sending a passport + printing visas don’t even require us to be physically present.

That's what I thought. Because to send you need the VAC in your spouse's city and the Mexico City VAC to be open. So we need to wait for Quito and Mexico City. They have businesses and pools and everything else open but to accept passports is to much.

I hope he is wrong. The VAC could be open partially with restrictions (appointements for exemple) or completely closed to the public. I am sure they still can find a way for employees to work in a safe way to complete paperwork.

I spoke to her again. She explained that a lot of places like Ecuador and Mexico are opening but they are not opening with government approval. The businesses are opening because they need to open to survive. I don't think Mexico and Ecuador have CERB or much savings so the places you do see opening are doing so against government wishes.

I see. Thank you for the information. Let’s hope for the best.
