Before Covid, it was One year from the date application is received by CIC. For example, someone whose application received by CIC In Nov-2019, but AOR is issued in Feb, the time still starts from Nov-2019 to Nov-2020 (as one year).

After Covid, I would guess, another 6 to 8 months it will be extended. So for above example, instead of Nov-2020, it would be around April (or) May-2021, if everything get's to normal very soon.

If something unexpected happens in Winter, then I guess, it would be 24 Months, instead of 12 Months. Let's hope for the best.

Thanks that helps a lot..
so 1st we sent our application it was in July 2019 but was returned due to missing tick mark on a question.
2nd time we sent it again in sept 2019 and returned back in jan 2020 for missing IELTS for spouse, though we ticked mark the section in where they asked if they have our IELTS in their database..
finally our Application delivered in Feb 2020 and got AOR on 11th August.

so our timeline should be from Feb 2020 not July 2019 correct?

I've just received the AOR today. Application sent the 14th Feb.
Please update the spreadsheet.
Congrats. As we are discussing about the time of email, please post the time of the email too ;)

What does the timeline of application received mentioned in your ecas at online in website? You should consider that as received date.

"they asked if they have our IELTS in their database": How do we know if its in their database? I am confused on what this means. How did you prove it?
I did not send original and sent only the copy while applying for PR as i am pnp nominee. So keeping just copy now wont be accepted?

Seems i will have this ielts confusion and headache till i see AOR email.

1. They do not have a specific time, I see people in this forum reported AROs at 9 pm. IRCC in NS is open from 8am to 4 pm if I am not wrong and they can send AROs during their working hours.
2. See told you AORs will come and yours is coming too ;)
1. Thinking that some are working from home too hence we are getting late emails. I am ok with receiving at random time as long as they accept it ;)
2. You are right, the day is not over yet.

My friend sent IELTS when they applied for PR. they ticked mark yes question in ciitzenship app n they received AOR without any delay. same i did n my app was sent back. dont know whats happening. Better to send IELTS with app. n they just need copy not original IELTS.

I got it. You meant that you did not keep the copy...
You are right. We should keep the copy in the application but as far as i understand the instructions, its asking us to include the copy. Dont know if it misread but yes we should keep the copy for sure(irrelevant of being used in PR application).

Yes Feb-2020 to Feb-2021 (After covid, mostly Sept-2021)

I may be confusing something but I thought the tick mark in the application for language proof check in the database is for a specific time period and for a specific type of test. The checkbox doesn't apply to IELTS, we need to include the IELTS proof regardless. I have included the instructions from the guide which relates to database check comment below:

You took a government-funded language training program and have achieved Canadian Language Benchmark/Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (CLB/NCLC) level 4 or higher in speaking and listening skills, including:
  • Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada or Cours de Langue pour Immigrants au Canada (LINC or CLIC):
    • If you completed the LINC or CLIC course on or after November 1st, 2012:
      • A copy of the certificate.
    • If you completed the LINC or CLIC course at CLB 4/NCLC 4 or higher from January 1st 2008 to October 31st, 2012:
      • A copy of the certificate.
      • If you do not have a copy of your certificate, check the box in question 15a and we will validate your certificate in the system.
