Is that written on cic official website?

Also, do I need a letter[of employment] from my employer when I apply for PGP?
You’ll have to look but yes it is a requirement to maintain an income above LICO until your parents land. CIC doesn’t always ask to see that you have maintained your income level above LICO during processing but they do if they have concerns especially for example if a family is making close to the LICO amount, a change in circumstance like anew baby, etc. Makes sense that CIC wants to make sure children can keep supporting their parents.

Hope you all are keeping safe in these difficult times, since we have passed more than half year of 2020. Who still believes PGP 2020 will happen or we should start gearing up for PGP 2021?

In my opinion the program won't reopen this year and they will wait until 2021. But that's just my guess.

pgp 2020 - I am very hopeful that the program may open anytime now and most likely in the last quarter or if we are lucky next month itself .... my son told me its possible - he consult his lawyer who files our application on his (sponsor) behalf .... pgp 2020 was delayed first due to review of the program and later due to covid-19 ..... let's wait ok if not this year let it be so - and then why even next year - Canadian govt is not bound to continue even the pgp program it solely at its discretion and to help its immigrants for family re-union .... by the way siblings above 21 are not included and all they get is 5 points .... so its like beggars cant be choosers .... if you want to bring your parents good then bring them under super visa .... i know this sounds harsh but this is so thats why most professionals prefer to go to USA and work there after obtaining Canadian citizenship ..... and they can settle there easily by buying property which is cheaper and also setting up business ..... making money and supporting families back home is more important for immigrants or foreign workers is the hard fact ..... have faith the Canadian govt is not closed and they are working on new guidelines and will soon notify pgp 2020 - my views

Covid is still a very large issue and there is a huge backlog on family reunification (spouses and children), study permits, work permits, etc which will take precedence over PGP. Think PGP in the 4th quarter is probably not realistic. In General Covid has shown that she don’t spend enough on senior care in a country with an ageing demographic.

Back in 2017 PGP, there was also a huge backlog. But it was proven that our processing was faster than some of them.

Not sure how this is relevant to anything that I posted and why you‘ve started replying to almost every any comment I make. Canada’s priority is immediate family (spouse and child) sponsorship, economic immigration, work permits and study permits. Until they catch up on the huge backlog of those applications there is little incentive to invest time and resources to run PGP.

Of course this is relevant. Nor did I replied to almost every comment you made. I only replied when I feel it's necessary.

Look at what you said in the last sentence: "Until they catch up on the huge backlog of those applications there is little incentive to invest time and resources to run PGP." Which is not the case as in 2017/2018. They sure didn't need to catch up on backlogs of pre-2015 to complete our PGP 2017.

There was backlog of PGP only not a backlog of every immigration program.

Exactly, no need to catch up on backlogs to run new applications (including PGP).
The priority for immigration is always spouses/children, express entry, international students, visitors and foreign workers. Sponsoring parents is the lowest priority. Yes CIC will likely want to be in a much better position when it comes to having processed the backlog of applicants and having operations back to normal before running new PGP applications.

Lol!

That said there is no priority for sponsoring other relatives, PNP Business Immigration and others not in your list. Why are they even running? That also explains why some posters complained they don't know what IRCC is doing after their citizenship test since March 2020.

PNP is under express entry. Sponsoring other relatives is an extremely small portion of immigration since most people don’t qualify for lonely Canadian. CIC is running but they were in lockdown and some offices abroad are still closed. They have slowly increased capacity once offices were transformed into safe work places. Not sure what citizenship applications have to do with PGP but virtual citizenship ceremonies have started already.
