I haven't received the support letter yet. Today is anyways civic holiday in Canada, so in next two days i will have update regarding the support letter. I will let you all know here. Anybody planning travel to Montreal??

I understand. Maybe 1 or 2 tickets are there open for booking by ourselves.

But mostly, it's through the agent.

my dest is toronto. try searching in midnight coz server load is less if you wanna do it yourself and agents charge a lot on tickets.

Stay strong and have hope buddy - at least, you won't have to worry about the 50% limit now. You can go in January & hopefully by then the restrictions are all eased.

Atleast people with online classes are not free at home. our time is wasted as deferring to sept and then to jan is very difficult.

Yesterday only I got the opportunity to book the tickets for the dates of 16, 23 and 30 August. In fact, my agent has created a reservation for 16th August as well but I am planning to postpone it by another 1/2 weeks just to meet the criteria of entering Canada not before 3 weeks prior to start of University.

This letter is the most important document at this point of time. However, you need to meet other criteria such as travel exemption and not travelling before 3 weeks of university start date.

Hey have you called CBSA mentioning that we have issues with timezones and Internet stability in India? If not,try once. I was told they consider these. Please revert back after you call.

I have tried all ways and means to convince university but they are denying to provide such letter considering online classes.

Even, I have tried to put up timezone and internet issues with them but they informed me that these issues need to be discussed with CBSA.

But, the question of putting up such reasoning comes only when we are allowed to board the flight and land in Canada, which seems impossible at this point of time.

Support letter from university as such isn't possible if the courses are online. Same applicable to me as my PhD coursework can be online i cannot get the letter. But since my lab work is mandatory, the univ suggested that my professor should be able to provide me the support letter and so hopefully today or tomorrow i will get it.

I just hope i get tickets to fly in 3rd week of august.
