Will this letter be enough to enter Canada? Also, is it hard to get one from the university?
yes only if you meet other conditions too like visa before 18th March, having on campus labs or class.
if its online only then its difficult to satisfy border officer.
but with all this they have the right to allow you to enter or deny.
2) you just have to ask your uni. they will provide it if you have hybrid course .

Don't have any hybrid course, everything is online. Was approved the visa in January. Also took online classes this summer. Internship postings for Summer 2021 (I'm in CS btw) have started rolling out and it would be a huge disadvantage if I'm not able to enter Canada (for on-site interviews).

Two weeks ago he offered me three dates 18th, 22nd, and 25th August. But for now he told me that I will call you up once I receive any schedule from AI.
Hey! Hope you're doing good!

Have you been able to book your ticket? Are you planning to travel? Best wishes :)

i was checking flights info and Air France as well as Emirates both have flights to Delhi as well as Toronto but having layover.
For Emirates its Dubai which is going to ask for Covid PCR test reports after 1st august. [but flights to Dubai are only for UAE residents, maybe they have started for all Dubai is opened for tourists now]
But Lufthansa is also under taking permissions to India and hope they start from next month.
But overall 4 days are left. Hope India and Canada brings happy news for all.
Hope for the best....
Sorry forgot about Air India even if they permit i can't see any available ticket till 1 october they say its sold out{i stopped checking after this date} maybe its an error or if its real, then they need more flights i guess.
Hey! I hope you're doing well.

Have you been able to book your ticket through Lufthansa/ Air France / Emirates? All these allow us to board only if our final destination is Europe right? I think they are not allowing people to book and travel for Canada through these airlines...

What about Air India? Any luck booking tickets?

Hey! Hello there!

Just wanted to start a discussion :)

Have you been able to book your ticket? Which airlines are you going through, please?

And for the letter from University, I'm trying too. Are they giving it to you?

Best wishes! :)

Hey have you called CBSA mentioning that we have issues with timezones and Internet stability in India? If not,try once. I was told they consider these. Please revert back after you call.

Hiii

Sure I'll do that once again. I'll call them to highlight these 2 issues alone.

But the thing is I already called them many times - different agents answered each time & they all keep repeating the same.

They ask 2-3 questions: do you already have physical study permit & are you a returning student? I said no. I'm only approved before March 18th. Then they asked whether I have face-to-face courses or online. Obviously i said it's online for the fall term. Then they said I don't have a compelling reason to come & my purpose is non-essential. :(

I'm sorry to sound negative but I'm honestly not getting a hopeful feeling after talking to them. But I'll definitely call them a few times again to ask about time zone & internet issues - specifically. I'll surely post back.

The big issue now is not even CBSA.

I think maybe, just maybe, there's a chance that even CBSA may allow us entry.

But the problem is Air India. They're operating in a blatantly corrupt way, pre-selling all tickets at double the price to agents, so that we can't book on our own. Getting a flight ticket to Canada is like a privilege now - only for those who're lucky to get a good agent and pay commission.

Ticket is not freely available to anyone and it's not fair at all. People's entire life gets ruined because of this. Hoping for a miracle where IRCC gets to know about this rampant ticket booking fraud, that prevents people from getting a flight.

At least then they'll understand that maintaining that 50% studies within Canada is just not possible for some people, just because they are not getting a proper agent. Such people now have to suffer their entire lives.

Even with an agent, there's no guarantee that we can get a booking. And then the boarding denials. They don't let us board at the airport. With people crying for refund on twitter as their boarding/booking itself got cancelled.

I don't know what to do now - it's just too stressful and going over the top of my head. Should I just start the program from home or try to go for September itself? Just miserable to face all this after getting an approval.

bro i am not going to support Air India here but seriously 2 days ago at around 12'o clock in night or morning i just searched for the flight for Toronto and for 20th Aug i saw an available ticket for 75,183 INR i think but as i was not able to book due to issue from my side(no blame on Air India here for not completing my booking payment as i mistakenly limited my card limit for 50K some days ago)
but after that day i never saw Any available ticket except a 3LAC first class ticket of 20th which was not good option for me as a student.

Hallo,

Only Air India is the option till 31st august.. But when i called customer support number, the airlines said all economy class tickets are full, only business class are avaialble which we students can't afford i believe. Anybody knowing any travel agency who might be having tickets?? besides this on air india website they have shown schedule for Bombay to montreal once a week in this month. But booking option is not opened for this and plus when u check through bookme.airindia, there they show it as 'all sold'. So things aren't clear for me. My destination is Montreal. anybody has any more updates on this??

Tickets are all sold in the black market :(

But even assuming we get tickets, we need the support letter from University.

@Shahin3583 , is your University giving the travel support letter?

I understand. Maybe 1 or 2 tickets are there open for booking by ourselves.

But mostly, it's through the agent.

Have you booked & obtained the travel support letter from college?
