Wow you are so flexible. Why do you want to defer, you could start online and it would be counted same as in Canada provided you complete half study in Canada. By the way you applied for which program if you don't have any issues to share?i originally applied for fall 2020 but due to expected delays i requested to defer my intake and if winter 2021 intake will not be possible for me again...i plan to defer it again in fall 2021.
my program is fast track 2-year advance diploma (engineering tech) and is listed as hybrid program.
cannot be done 100% online. i have labs and workshops course.
im still working and my contract till next year so I can wait. besides with all the problems in travelling and restrictions...it's better to defer until next year if it is allowed.
im just waiting for my study permit application for fall 2020, hopefully it will be granted and then plan accordingly.
Most universities I heard of let you defer your admission one time only. After that, you have to apply again. So be cautious and ask your university/ college about their rules.
No. I have asked my university and they told me they MIGHT defer my admission if there is a valid reason. And, I can defer my admission only once.
They told me if I deferred for the winter term, and want to defer it again I have to reapply.
Anyways i believe we will not need to defer 2 times .
can anybody advise whether we need exit-entry visa? Some ppl told they provided it but considering 1+ yrs program how it will make sense as our expat visa is for one yr only how we will make exit-entry visa with validity for more than a year?

exit re entry visa is not a requirement...maybe even police clearance certificate
It isn’t necessary, you can provide it IF you want to for the maximum validity which I guess is 360 days.
it's just an optional doc you need to upload together with your copy of iqama (translated) only if you plan to come back in Saudi Arabia after your study, if not then it is understood by the officer that you will be on a final exit visa.
relax, you will not be the first time to do it.
your being a good and lawful resident of another country is already a strong argument that you will follow their immigration laws regarding your application for student permit/visa.
The requirements for applying through online and paper are different (dont know for what reason). I have applied once before and did attach my exit-reentry paper but it really made no difference as they still rejected me on ‘immigration status’ so it really is upto you if you want to attach.
