Does it matter if your name on the letter of employment is slightly different than your application/current name?

Let's say my full name was Luke Jones Ortolani. Now it's just Luke Ortolani as per my passport.

One of my old companies had my name on record as Luke J Ortolani while another company had it as Luke Jones Ortolani.

If I am using just Luke Ortolani as my name for the EE application, should I ask the company to write the names without the initial/middle name or leave it as is for the letter of employment? Is it a problem if the letters don't have my name exactly as my application?

I dont think it matters. Some of the people i knew had used initials instead of their full name in employment docs and education certificates.

technically its a minor detail so it wont have any impact, but also remember its at the discretion of the visa officer. if theyre unable to verify they might just raise additional concerns. your best bet would be to definitely include an LOE and additionaly an affidavit with your application if you have the time.
