My finacée and I are Indian citizens. My finacée is currently a permanent resident who landed in March 2020. We are same-sex couples and in India same-sex marriage is not legally recognized. I want to visit her and get married in Canada so that I can come back and apply for spouse sponsorship visa.

1. Can I give the purpose of the visit to get married?
2. If so, then can I mention that I will go back to India and apply for spouse visa?
2. If not should I give it as to visit her and spend time?
4. She landed recently and working as part-time. Do mentioning it raise any red flag regarding the expense? I can sponsor my expenses and have financial proofs.
5. Is there any effect on visa approval due to the pandemic situation?

Appreciate your time and suggestions.
Thanks.

1. Not recommended. This will most likely guarantee refusal.
2. Not recommended. Aagain, will most likely lead to refusal.
3. You should say that you are coming as a tourist only.
4. You should sponsor your own trip and show a bank account balance / pay slips to prove you can cover these expenses.
5. IRCC is placing priority on immediate family members so it may take a while to the TRV to be processed. Rigtht now there are travel restrictions in place that only allow essential travel. If the TRV is approved, you will need to wait until the travel restrictions have been lifted before you can come as a visitor to Canada.

Thank you for the reply. Does it mean I go to only visit her or keep her out of the application ??
If I say I am going to visit, still can I mention as my fiancee or as a friend ??
