Yes, when I applied, the processing time was 9 weeks, and now it's getting slower and slower.Still waiting, when I applied it was 12 weeks processing time, then it went to 15, now it's 18 weeks
When did you apply?

What is the status of your application? Nothing has changed in mine.
sigh…………Just biometrics completed, not even eligibility started, and background checks ongoing, it will take forever

I applied online from Iceland and the processing is done in London visa office, I applied 13 weeks ago for fall 2020, and the processing time than was just 7 weeks, and till now still did not hear anything, my progress starting really soon and I’m getting nervous and I don’t know what to do ? What if they just don’t give any answer and the program start, will they give a refusal just because There delay ! That not fair really

Belgian national, only need CAQ and study permit, no visa.
-20/2 CAQ applied for (Quebec)
- 22/5 CAQ approved after 13 weeks
- 22/5 study permit applied for including all papers except biometrics
-22/5 estimated 9 weeks processing time
- 17/6 biometrics completed
- 3 webforms completed over last 2 months, no replies
- 11 weeks and today waiting and no replies
- 19 weeks estimated processing time on 5/5/20
Not a single new international student at Bishop's has informed the university their study permit has been approved. There are normally around 150 new international students per year.
Next door university universite de Sherbrooke has reported about 15 out of 1000 new international students Fall 2020 have study permits approved and will try to enter Canada. These will be students who received approval of study permits before 18th March 2020.
Haven't yet found any applicants in any forums to have had a study permit approved after 18th March.
First stage approval (AIS some call it but it's an incorrect abbreviation) has happened it appears in reverse order, in India Delhi applications from July reported as have passed first stage but applications from May have not yet, in Africa Tanzania, some first stage approvals for even February!
The estimated processing time is now 19 or 20 weeks for most of the world. It is 20 weeks since 18th March, basically every week, the processing time increases by a week.
I suspect the instructions are to put on hold every single study permit in the whole world until it is too late for anyone to travel in person.
Course is in person 2/5 and online possible 3/5 and the campus is the best possible in the circumstances, quarantine plan for Bishop's is excellent. Have the quarantine plan written already, 4 pages long, ready to be houses for 14 days with meals to the door, also being transported from Montreal airport directly to the dorm room. However, Bishop's has no new international students who have booked these quarantine rooms!

It’s a crap, what is our rights? What about if we don’t hear anything and our programs start and we will get denied because of that? They will argue that because of Delays they couldn’t give an answer sooner and because the program started we don’t have the rights anymore to get a permit. Can we do anything?
I don't think there will be any changes in policy until near end August 2020. On 27/7, US nationals were removed from the obligation that study permit approvals (etter of instruction emailed to confirm approved) be before 18th March but they still have to prove the travel is essential ie they MUST do in person classes, if they arrive before 21st August, that date might still get extended. For the rest of the world, only those with study permits approved before 18th March can travel still, the numbers approved before 18th March who are new students is miniscule, furthermore still have to prove travel is essential if arriving before 31st August, that might also be extended. Students who are travelling now with approved study permits before 18th March or with study permits in hand are being refused boarding in many cases, as IRCC and CBSA have asked students not to arrive more than 3 weeks before start of classes. For my daughter, that means no arrival before 19th August and Bishop's have also told returning and new international students not to arrive before 19th August. There are however no new international students anyway, not a single one, it's a very small university, so Bishop's staff will know the names individually of students and their circumstances. I am hoping there might be some movement end August, just before the 31/8 deadline, maybe finally they'll approve some study permits, hoping many will have deferred or given up by then. My daughter is going to have to take classes she doesn't want to take in order to do fully online, she will be behind in the schedule of her degree by not being able to do the obligatory in person classes. Still holding out that she'll finally be approved end August or beginning September. Bishop's have said she could join the in person classes late possibly by end September. It is abysmal. It would have been easier to have a firm no or yes.
In my case I can’t start my program online if I don’t have a valid study permit, it’s going to be online and im not planning to go to Canada for now but I can’t start my online classes without the permit. So if I don’t get the permit before classes start I miss my opportunity to study my program.
