I have same question. I changed my phone number a while ago but didn't remember to update CIC as they had always been contacting me via email. Anyone who happened to miss the call from CIC that could give us some insights? Thanks! What will happen if you missed the call? Would they send an email?
Hi everybody, happy to report I completed my virtual oath ceremony this morning. Here's my timeline for reference:
June 2019 applicant
Location: Scarborough
AOR: Sept 2019
Test: Dec 2019
Oath invite: Feb 2019
1st Oath: 20 April (cancelled)
2nd Oath: 3 July
Received phone call from IRCC: 22nd June
Email received with oath details: 1 July
Received second phone call from IRCC to confirm logistics: 2nd July
Ceremony lasted around 15 minutes. Organizer, clerk, judge, another IRCC official who stays off camera, and the applicant(s). They ask you to verify your identity (DL, Health card), confirm your location in Canada, show the PR card and read the numbers on the back near the bar code. The judge gives a speech, and proceeds with the oath in both languages. You can then cut up the PR card and sign the oath affirmation form (either physically in front of them or electronically) and email it to them. They will confirm receipt and mail you the certificate between 2-3 weeks. I will report back when I receive it.
Here's hoping you all get some good news soon!
I can answer any Qs any one may have as well (sorry, don't have any info on tests).
But they sent it to the mailing address on file/application, correct?Hi everyone! Just an update: I received my citizenship certificate today (July 13), 10 days after my virtual oath.
They sent it to my home address, despite me requesting them to send to my new mailing address. I am moving to a new house this week, but fortunately, got it in the nick of time. So just a heads up if any one has a different mailing and home address.
Good luck to you all!
No, they sent it to my old home address (GTA). My mailing address was different (Hamilton), and they even confirmed on the Zoom call it would go to Hamilton. Super weird. But they sent it to the mailing address on file/application, correct?
Vow.. seems they are careless. its not good because of possible change in home address, i have given mailing address to avoid this problem but will have to wait and see the shock and surprise by cic.No, they sent it to my old home address (GTA). My mailing address was different (Hamilton), and they even confirmed on the Zoom call it would go to Hamilton. Super weird.
I guess if the test centers are in remote county, we can opt for it...What will happen if you missed the call? Would they send an email?
I am hamilton applicant. Passed test on 5th feb. Application received 1st march 2019.Anyone from Hamilton, ON processing centre got virtual ceremony invite?
Seems Vancouver and Surrey has been super super slow. Can anyone confirm if there have been any virtual oath ceremonies for applicants from Surrey BC
We are in the same boat. I passed my test on November 21st, 2019 and have decision made since last year. Still waiting for an oath invite. So far I have not seen anyone from Hamilton invited for virtual oath ceremony. Are you aware of anyone from Hamilton who has received an oath invite since covid-19?I am hamilton applicant. Passed test on 5th feb. Application received 1st march 2019.
Waiting for oath. No news till now.
