Thanks for sharing. So if I cover just travel risk through private insurance it should suffice. Correct ?

I assume that the 3 months waiting period to become eligible for OHIP in Ontario has been waived and we are covered for all medical risk including Covid from the day we land. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks
I interpreted that way. Others can correct me

Yes, but you still need to apply for OHIP, however for that you need the proof of address. From what I understand, you will be covered from any COVID case regardless of this application for OHIP.

You need to send a new webform telling them that you are able to travel and wait for their instructions.
Thanks. The webform that I submitted stated that I am "able to travel to Canada now". However, their response seems to be generic asking me to raise another webform... I don't understand why. Should I send my air tickets to prove that I am able to travel?

I think you should send the tickets immediately and explain that you are fully ready to travel with your arrangements in Canada. By the way, whee is your Visa Office?

Thanks! I am in Delhi, India. I haven't booked air tickets yet, but am planning to book and send them a copy. I'll request for extending the COPR and PRV for that date.

Don't book tickets yet till you get your extended CoPR. NDVO is waiting for commercial flights to resume (not the special ones) to give instructions regarding CoPR extensions. You might be ready to travel but NDVO is not ready to process extensions as of now. There are others in this thread who have sent "ready to travel" webform to NDVO few weeks ago and are still waiting.

Are you looking to book one of the VB ticket or are you waiting for commercial flights to open?
I am planning to book Air Canada for September. There is too much risk booking Vande Bharat with expired COPR because the last VB is available for Jul 25 and is non-refundable.

Thanks... this is helpful information. I'm planning to book commercial flight of Air Canada for September. My understanding is that they are offering free rescheduling because of COVID. So even if I'm not able to get COPR extended by September, I will be able to reschedule my flight. Has anyone sent booked tickets and requested for COPR extension?

@rockmyway @whyCorona

This is exactly what i was wondering, if we do show proof will the Canada office extend it for us or do we still have to wait for NDVO to open(this seems strange because we have no idea when and if commercial flights will start anytime soon).Do we just wait endlessly till NDVO and/or commercial flights start. The best we have for the next few months is VB and travel bubbles.

The webform page states 'If you're impacted by Covid, answer "no" to "is your application processed outside canada". Which means all webforms will be directed to their head office in Canada, which makes me wonder if they're now going to look into all requests and provide an extension.

I agree with your sentiments. I prefer taking some action now to waiting and taking no action at all. Plus, I have to join a job in Canada. So I cannot wait endlessly.

I keep wondering how the COPR would get extended even if NDVO opens up... would I have to take medical test again and get another visa stamped? Would IRCC consider giving an e-Visa or a letter approving an extension of COPR?

Most airlines are offering flexibility with bookings. You can have it rescheduled for another date with no extra charges. Always book directly with the airline!!

Hi,

I am from China and now living there. I received my COPR issued in April and will expire in October :(. What could I do now? Could I send Webform to IRCC and tell them that I'm ready to travel, or only people whose COPR has expired can do so? Thanks!
