RCMP Police Clearance validity

Hi,

I wanted to inquire about the validity of RCMP Police clearance when we are staying in Canada. I have read on the CIC site that it is valid for 1 year, but if I had done a police clearance in advance then while submitting the application, how long should it be valid?

Like we have the medical certificate which is valid for 1 year, but it has to be valid for minimum 6 months when you submit the application. Is that the same for RCMP police clearance also?

I don’t know why you need RCMP police clearance. For PR you need PCC from your home country.
Thank you

medical exam is valid 1 year after you send it (medical board submitted). The Police certificate have to be less than 6 month when you send the PCC to IRCC

I copy pasted from CIC website
Get the police certificates you need
You must include police certificates when you apply for permanent residence.

Our online system will ask for a police certificate for:

  • you and your family members who are 18 years or older
  • and
  • every country you (or a family member) stayed in during the last 10 years for 6 months or more in a row
You don’t need to give us police certificates for any period of time before you were 18 years old or for time spent in Canada.

I spent one year in Canada and IRCC asked me for the RCMP police clearance , it is up to the officer.

That’s a different scenario, but usually it is not mandatory and many of friends got PR without RCMP PCC. Rest for sure will depend upon Visa Officer.
