I am applying for a BOWP. Do I need to complete Schedule 1 (IMM5257)?

I am a British citizen currently residing in Canada on a working holiday visa (IEC). I have submitted an application for permanent residence through Express Entry under the Canadian Experience Class. I am currently in the process of applying for a bridging open work permit.

In my document checklist online, it lists 'Schedule 1: Application for a Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside of Canada' (IMM5257) under optional documents. I am completing this application within Canada, which suggests to me that I do not need to complete it. However, when I click on '?' next to the form, it states 'you must provide a Schedule 1 declaration.'

How do I know if I need to complete this form? I'm not sure why this form is listed on my checklist as I am completing this application within Canada.

I want to know if I need to provide this form because I'm experiencing difficulty generating barcodes on the form. If I don't need to provide the form, I will just leave it.

Thank you in advance.

You don't need to submit the Schedule 1 for an in-Canada BOWP. The checklist is not tailored to your situation. The same options are generated for everyone.
Thanks for your response. I guess that makes sense, given it says ‘made outside of Canada’. Just wanted to be sure!

Hi Alissanb,

I'm in the same situation and I'd be grateful if you could give some feedback.

I was wondering if:
1. You decided to upload this schedule 1 or not, and if you received your bridging open working permit?
2. You uploaded a proof of health insurance for the time you were going to be under implied status (after your working holiday visa expired and before you got the approval of your bridging permit)? There is a checklist on the canada.ca website that mentions that but I'm not sure if that applies to our situation...

Thank you in advance!
