Why do you say that?
It should be good enough, that's where we were around pre-COVID, a bit higher or just about 470 as the cut-off score, i think after the initial clearance of the FSWs with very high scores, we'll regress to that point of around 470.

CEC has also been emptied out regularly with their draws, so there aren't many high scorers in the pool at the moment.

Now, i still think there will be a back to back draw, so that should bring the score down too.

Not only that, very less IELTS happening (just less than 10 percent of what it was months ago) and ECA is almost not happening now until the staff go to office. All these equate to a very low number of candidates entering the pool with a good score.
So bi-weekly draws of around 3900 and way too less dudes entering the pool can plummet the score down to even 450s. Same is the case with CEC (469 to 437).

As positive as I want to sound, all this depends on when fsw draws happen.... if your the religious type... this is the time to start fervent prayers...

It's true, that's the million dollar question.

I was thinking July, but we don't know if they're going to wait for cases to decrease in other parts of the world before they start doing all program draws. Or something like allowing applicants from certain countries with low numbers.

Very very well said to dudes that keep irritating with this "Joblessness" tag. My sister lives in Canada (study visa) and she lost her part-time work during April but she was asked to come back by May 15. Her room-mates too (from India) too were laid off (who were working in different part-time sectors) too were called back to join by the month of May.
I also recently heard that Canada has recently added 300k jobs amid this lockdown. Slowly and gradually most jobs that were lost are being hired back.
Apart from Tourism, Aviation, hotel management and other similar sectors, others are now doing pretty fine. This is also not a long term recession but a temp obstacle that will be completely healed in the coming months.
By the time we receive ITA -> Submit Docs -> PPR -> COPR and land there (which is roughly 9 months from this date), either there is a vaccine or curve would have flattened but definitely the economy would be much much better.
The only prime reason CECs are invited is that they have closed their borders and have planned to open it almost full by July end. So as per this, the later part of July will see FSW draws for sure. Other than this, there is no bloody reason.
Not sure why these clowns come and comment all these in a form that is named 'ray of HOPE'.
In 40 days from now, we'll see all program draws and score will dip too gradually
Thats not a true indication of things coming back. You cannot compare part time student jobs with full time jobs paying a good salary.

Ban ( for atleast 180 days) on immigration visas is anytime expected in USA due to surging unemployment ... do you guys think some ban will come up in Canada too to control unemployment ? And whose files are already approved and cases that have not yet reached the decision/in progress wont be issued ppr for some time?

Nope, they are slowly opening economy, calling family members, planning to welcome work permit holders and even more coming.
So never compare US to that of Canada.
When trump first came, reducing the H1B quotas was one of his prime motive and at the same time, Canada revised its immigration target to greater numbers than 2015.
So nothing like that

Please everyone remember, everything going on in the U.S will have a lot to do with who wins the presidential election there in November.

My friend works as a design engineer in Calgary, Alberta. He was not laid off but was asked to take temp leave for upto 40 days and was asked to come back by May 20.
Many of my friends in IT, HR, Banking, Digital Marketing, Medicine in Canada. None had issues. All of them are actively employed, have their payment on time.
What all of them tell to me is that the media is exaggerating to a large scale.
Maximum impact is for part-timers that desperately need their paychecks and they add up a large percentage to the joblessness. But to be honest, Canada is doing pretty pretty pretty good in all terms compared to other countries and that is one reason why dudes are loving to move there.
I have nearly 50 people (acquaintances) and none of them are having any problem.
Dudes that migrated from India especially are against immigration now and often highlight this "unemployment" tag to avert immigrants from the same nation.
By the way, Canada's economy is opening up day by day and slowly vacancies, joblessness, unemployment is plummeting.

Dunno. This is what it is. But yes, there are lots of people that do activities such as vlogging, helping strangers via FB/Whatsapp, providing temp accommodation.
It basically varies from person to person.

I am glad that your friend is still employed in Calgary. My friend works for Enbridge and he thankfully still has a job but his company got 800 employees to do voluntary buyouts. I know a few people in the City of Edmonton and IT companies that got laid off. All this information is anecdotal at best and we may not have the true picture. I disagree that a lot of Indians don’t want immigration as most Indians gained their PR through the FSW program so I think the opposite is true.

Typical people who immigrate but don't want people to immigrate after them.
