Guys just an out of the box question. Can an international student who is doing engineering in Canada apply for PR during the course.Like after 1st year or 2nd year?Pls suggest if anyone knows.
Yeah sure why not.. if you are able to make enough points to get selected from the pool. However, my friends applied after completing the course with PNP.

Hi All, I got this email from CIC. My COPR hasn't expired yet. I did email them about inability to travel from US to Canada due to travel restrictions.
Anyone else got this?

Dear client,
Please note that due to current circumstances your Visas and Confirmation of Permanent Residences (CoPRs) have been cancelled and your approval status has been removed. Once the travel ban is lifted and our offices have reopened, your file will be re-approved and you will be able to send your passports for processing to obtain your new valid CoPRs and Visas and complete the landing process.
You may continue to correspond with this email regarding your application.
Thank You,

Yes, we entered US through AVR program and no one asked about Self Quarrantine when we entered US, we were there for 5 days only and the CBP officer just checked for valid i-797 document and let us In.
Aah.. unfortunately I just got an email that my COPR is cancelled for now and will be reissued later. Would definitely have traveled if I knew this. Anyways congrats!

What was the expiry date of your CoPR?
And when did you send the webform?

You won't meet the experience and/or academic requirements unless you have prior experience abroad and you meet the academic requirements (provided they are approved by WES etc). If you already meet the requirements then you can apply from Canada. But your Canadian academic program won't count until you get your degree..

Yes completing the course is important. So did they go for a short term diploma course?Did they have to work after course completion and before applying for Pnp?

Expiry is 6/26. Webform sent in May.
This is totally fine. I believe US Canada borders are closed till July 31 for non essential travel. Your VO seems proactive and has cancelled your CoPR and your application is reopened. Otherwise they would have cancelled your CoPR on 26th July (your current CoPR expiry date). No worries, just raise another webform when you think you are able to travel.
