What sponsorship application should i use?

Hi everyone,

i recently got my Permanent residency in Canada(like a month) and was wondering what’s the best option for me to sponsor my fiancè.

We’ve been together for 12 years and we’ve been in a long distance relationship for 4-5 years now since i came to Canada to study. We’ve never lived in together since that that is not something acceptable in our family culture.

We got engaged 2 years ago and was planning to get married this 2020 but we are not sure if we can even see each other due to the covid situation.

In 2017 he applied for tourist visa but got denied because the officer thinks he will not go back to our country.


My question is, are we qualified for a conjugal sponsorship?

Should we just wait til the covid 19 situation easess off so we can get married?

is it ok to marry and sponsor someone right away?

It's unlikely that they would accept covid-related travel restrictions as meeting the requirements of conjugal sponsorship - and would likely take longer for them to evaluate, and with a greater chance of failure.

I have a follow up question, if we apply the spousal sponsorship can I be the one to mail it here in Canada? Even though the principal application is overseas?
