Fly with Cathay Pacific then! You can still book their flights between mainland and YVR but make you sure transit in HKG only.Not yet, I am very frustrated at this point...

nope, just checked with Cathay yesterday, all passengers from mainland China are NOT allowed to transfer in HKG now.

That is just cathay Pacific policy, and some Hong Kong government policy, I see cathay they don't have flights out of mainland China, you would just need to book a flight with air China to Hong Kong, and have a ticket from Hong Kong using Cathy Pacific to Vancouver,

actually could you not fly cathay from Beijing to Hong Kong to Vancouver that is on a single ticket.
I see air China has so many flights to Hong Kong why would it be possible to fly from mainland China to Hong Kong, if mainlander cant fly to Hong Kong why they have flights there?
They do have flight from Beijing->HongKong->Vancouver for about $2000. Beijing HongKong segment is flew by Cathay Dragon.
