Dear all,
I have read online (not in Canada visa blog) that being unemployed for extended periods of time while being a PR might affect the process of the citizenship in terms of the time its processed in.
Is that true?. Also I read that staying outside Canada for more than 365 days might trigger the same delay.

I dont think staying outside for 365 days would have any impact but being unemployed for longer term may trigger red flags in terms of person living in Canada... Let's think rationally most Canadians live pay check to pay check and being unemployed for long would trigger concern on person's ability to bear Canadian living expenses.

I understand, but what if the applicant didnt find a job easily or stayed for 7 months or so before finding one?. I am yet to land next month, so trying to figure out a way to tackle this

This is not true. Job is not a criteria for granting citizenship. There are many housewives who are Canadian now. They did not even worked for a single day in their eligibility period.

Some options : Working on weekend part time, enrolled in government funded courses i.e newcomer Centre of peels etc anything that would support you were physically present. Also it's always advisable to put a cover letter along with your application which would help explaining situations which may cause delays or red flags...

Yea I am planning on taking survival jobs in Canada until I find something in my field but also this might take some time like a couple of months or so. What could be done in these months in order to avoid an issues.

Oh, so I think its fine and I think they are not expecting everyone to find a job as soon as they land, after all its an immigration.
I have one more question, if for the first lets say 2 months or so, I lived with a friend (i wont pay rent he is just letting me stay with him until i figure something out). what proof can I provide as me staying in his house for this period of time? Given that I dont expect much mail to be used as a proof as I have already soft landed and received my PR card and bank cards

This is not true, a friend of mine is a housewife and has lived in Canada for more than 5 years as PR, she also traveled outside Canada during her PR time .she never worked and she is canadian today, she applied and the all process took her 10 months with no delay.Employment is not a must for citizenship.

Open a bank account and give your friend's address as your postal address. This will be in your bank statements, it should be enough as proof of address.I hope this help.

But i think housewife does qualify as a proof of residence because she has kids and she js taking care of them right?
