@legalfalcon or anyone who has clear information about the confusion of COPR or Information letter.

From the last week most of the applicants receiving PR approval with "INFORMATION LETTER" stating UCI number and COPR document no.
Most of people sending this letter with photo(like me) to IRCC assuming this letter as COPR. Although I know the format of this letter is different from the COPR document they used.

By reading messages in the forum:-
1)Someone receive the same letter in the mail written as "Virtual COPR"

2)On the other hand the conflict statement "if you have COPR in hand then send with one photo" creating confusion and there is no other clear instructions the next step after PR approval

3)I talked with IRCC agents 3 times even they were not clear about the new process.

My question are:-
a)If this information letter is our COPR then why they put that conflict statement.why this COPR format is different from the older one?
b)Why they did not provide the clear instructions about the next step.

c)In the email they send the "PR obligation" attachment also with information letter which is usually they provide after landing before.

If anyone has clear idea ,Please put reply here with the exact source of information.

The inconsistency is due to no standardized procedure yet. Each office is doing it in their own way, but the motive is the same; that is to land a candidate without an in-person or a phone appointment. These are done in batches, so if you see your application is approved on the portal, it might take a few days to receive the COPR email. When you get this COPR email, it literally indicates you are permanent resident and that you need to send your picture for your PR card. Inland applicants should be glad this is happening!

I just got my COPR email and doc from Etobicoke office. I sent them an email and responded with the doc within 10 mins. I was tired of waiting. My PR application was approved on May 25, as per my online account. Good luck guys! The email says I am now a permanent resident of Canada and that I can use the letter attached to get PR cards.

Mine doesn't have that line. It's written like this:

"...

This letter does not replace the permanent resident card; you are still required to submit the
documentation to obtain your permanent resident card. For issuance of your permanent
resident card, please send in two photos that meet our photo specifications to the address listed
above.
Please ensure that you write your unique client identifier (UCI) and name on the
back of the photos. Along with your photos, please send a copy of this letter with your current
residential address written on it.

..."

I am also confused if the email is the actual CoPR or just "Information Letter".

Is that information letter
Or landing in paper they used before for landing?
I got this letter :

I am pleased to advise you that your application for permanent residence in Canada is now complete. Congratulations! You are now a permanent resident of Canada!

This letter constitutes an official document issued by the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. You can provide a copy of this letter to prove that you are a permanent resident of Canada and to apply for government benefits and services for which you are eligible, until you receive your permanent resident card.

This letter does not replace the permanent resident card; you are still required to submit the documentation to obtain your permanent resident card. If you have a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR) document in-hand, please send it along with one photo that meets our photo specifications to the address listed above. Please ensure that you write your unique client identifier (UCI) and name on the back of the photo. If your address has changed, please provide us with your current address.

COPR is completely different document. You can search that online. So I think this is just information letter. I got the same letter. Not sure wheather to wait for actual COPR to get delivered at my home or to send photos with this letter
