Wife just got ppr yesterday! :)
Question : does it matter which visa office we send our passport to? I am not sure which one is our nearest visa office . Either Beijing or Guangzhou
For example "during normal times" we went directly to the Beijing VAC in person, paid the fees, and
received back in one week by courier. Make sure you verify the return address for delivery !
After passport received then booked direct flight to Vancouver.

Good time of year for the West Coast.
May be a little warm? That's ok for me...... Just drink more beer!
Not much else happening around here now.

ryester did you figure out what flight your wife take, what city in July?
No, I still think Air Canada direct flight from Beijing-Vancouver is the best option IF it can fly in July. But at this point, I have no faith on it so I will stay put for a bit until Mid-June. If it cannot fly in July, I will try Cathay or ANA. It looks like Shanghai-Vancouver flight still operate, but it is really hard to fly from Beijing to Shanghai, I will consider that route as well.

Depending on the amount of luggage you will bring? Consider the bullet train to Shanghai, it's more comfortable, takes
longer and really quiet in the first class section. Also there was no problem transfer between airports in Shanghai.
Was just over 1 hour in taxi with no traffic. Have to consider all the costs.
It's a long trip to Canada and if you're not used to traveling then waiting for a direct flight would be best.

ryester, this guy on twitter ask the IRCC, this question but they never got back to him,

Hello sir,My spouse COPR is approved on March 20 2020. But she cannot travel because Covid 19 restricted to March 18 2020 . And her COPr is going to expire. Can you please help with this situation to travel from India to Toronto.

I am wondering if I do get a flight out from China to Vancouver in July if they will let my wife in Canada, I wonder if we should risk the time, and money from the flight there and back if it's possible they will reject us.

Please read CBSA internal memo, immediate family members do NOT have this restriction (PR approval before March 18, 2020)
