Medical - Ulceritive colitis

Hi All,

We are 33 years old couple with 1 child.

Last year we recived our Quebec selection certificate and now waiting for our medical exams.

6 month ago my husband was diagnosed with Uiceritice colitis (very mild).
He got a local treatment and now he is perfectly fine.

Dows any one know if because of this we will be rejected?

we are very afraid.

Thank you very much for your quick reply.

My husband does not on medication at all.
He was in the hospital for 3 days because of the mesalamine treatment in the begining (allergic reaction).
After adjusting his condition he was released from the hospital with only a local trewatment for 6 weeks and that is it.

During this time he worked and almost kept his life normal.

Do you suggest informing the doctor about his medical condition or not?

We are afraid that a 4 years hard work will be lost and we will be rejected

Anyway in my opinion . We go through life so many health problems this one of them.since their was no major surgery. The cic check for HIV , syphilis which are serious health issues. Since he is normal now you don't merely mention during medicals . I don't think it should be problem . By the way i am not doctor it is purely my opinion. Just go through cic website panel physician hand book you will get more info on medicals . It will clear your doubts. Which part of the world are you from?

Hi,

Yes we had declared chrons during our medicals and were asked for further tests.
The cost of medicine should be below the threshhold. I suggest you to hire a Lawyer who specializes in Medical Inadmissability. I would recommend Battista Immgration Law group. They are based in Toronto.

Also,I understanding you already landed in Canada in January 2020,
1- how are you feeling now?
2- are you taking any medicine? if yes, what are the steps once you got there to register in the Hospital/pharmacy to get your "free" medicine? or anything else?
3- what can of meds you are taking?
4- was meds cost high than the threshold? 20k?
5- how do they figure out the future cost of your meds anyways..?

Humira- No you need to have seperate additional insurance to get medicines. OHIP doesnt cover the medicines cost.

3- what can of meds you are taking?
Humira
4- was meds cost high than the threshold? 20k?
It was just about that range

5- how do they figure out the future cost of your meds anyways..?
They calculate based on current medicine cost

Many jobs do not provide extra medical insurance. Canada doesn’t not have a universal pharmacare program. There are many medical things that are not covered in Canada.

You really need to do more research about the medical system in Canada. There are also wait times to get into many specialist or it can be impossible to secure a family doctors in some areas. If you have a chronic condition you need to do a lot more research about whether it make sense to move, whether you will be able to easily secure a job with medical benefits, what is the best province for you to live in since every province have a different medical system and they carry different things, etc.

I am not sure about remicade...

Not all work insurances cover Remicade. Many jobs also don’t provide extended medical benefits that you can pay into.

I am also on remicade. I am on work permit and I believe that remicade is not covered under OHIP. But some company finance the cost of remicade. I never pay any single panne out of my pocket. But I also have medical insurance from my company. I hope this clear some of you doubt.
