Currently giving out 3 month extensions. People many need to reassess their plans given covid and recession. If you don’t want to move until the economy is better yet want to secure your PR you have the option to do a soft landing as the primary applicant and eventually sponsor your family once you relocate to Canada within 3 years of landing,Rather you are the best person to take call on this. You should evaluate your personal situation and finances and figure out when is best time for you to migrate. Simply landing in Canada under the fear that your application will be closed is not wise.
You may consider following things to arrive at a decision
1. If you land in Canada leaving your home country job or business, how you are gonna sustain your family in Canada specially under recession ?
2. You can explore soft landing, but you will be required to do quarantine in both Canada and in your home country.
As per my understanding IRCC is not rigid, they are compassionate enough to understand an individual's situation and give him or her an extension based on that. We are still not clear whether they are awarding 3 months or 6 months extension.
