Can we get assurance that snapshot works ? I hope they don't turn us back for that.
I haven't decided the Port of Entry but I will going from Detroit as well.
Well, I have a copy of my email to RIV in advance to my export ( like a week before). The letter is below with the screen snapshot attached
"To Whom It May Concern
Please see attached the snapshot from the
https://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/recall showing that the vehicle is not currently affected by a safety recall.
Please confirm that the vehicle is cleared for import.
Thank you,
"
After that I got "Thank you for submitting recall clearance. Your document may take up to one business day to process. "
The next day or so I got the following: "
From:
RIV <
06022667_9659@support.riv.ca>
Date: Tue, Sep 11, 2018 at 1:53 PM
Subject: RIV Federal Inspection Form for VIN: WDCGG0EB8E*******
To:
support@support.riv.ca
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good day,
The recall document we have received bearing VIN WDCGG0EB8E******** has been approved.
As long as the approved document is less than thirty days old at the time of importation it will be honoured.
If your vehicle has more than one manufacturer, more than one recall may be required.
Please visit
www.riv.ca to verify admissibility and learn more about the import process.
"
Only after that I started to get ready for Export by ordering ITN number for $35 from
simplifiedtradesolutions.com ( got ITN on Sep 13, 2018) and sending 72 hours notice to the border.
On Sept 21, 2018 I did export and the same day after Import emailed to RIV a copy of Form 1, prove of clearance from them and prove of $350 payment to get RIV inspection form.
By the way I ran trough BMW link above several VINs for actual 'BMW' /'330' / 'I' and VIN_YEAR=2017 and got
"0 open recall for your vehicle
", so , I think, you can use it - one problem less.
