Oh I got you!
Let me put it in this way. We are currently living in uncertain times where we cant predict what will be the situation in next month with this virus? Will there be new travel restrictions or will they ease out? Your points are valid. After some months when things go to normal there will be immigration gap created which needs to be filled. At that point a outland CoPR holder should be ready to travel. Maybe giving a travel authorization letter over email which is valid for one year or something like that would be helpful. This is just a suggestion. If going by current extension process we need to tell IRCC when we will be able to travel so that they can start the CoPR extension process. No one right now specially in India know when they will be in that position to tell IRCC. Other thing is that if wave 2 of this virus happens while CoPR extension is in progress then what? Oh man! such an uncertainty.

Totally agree with this. Nobody knows what the landscape would be in months to come. While situation seems to be improving in Canada, other countries are seeing spikes, so globally it is hard to predict.. If IRCC starts issuing travel authorization, that will help reducing no. of web forms they receive each day and help the applicants as well.. The positive thing here is that IRCC is still operating and evolving with the changing situation. Hopefully they will soon release helpful updates..

This means even if the situation shows a flatten graph in coming months.. We will travel with a fear in our mind of second wave of pandemic as predicted by WHO..This means no soft landing will be allowed..
Ircc should announce some general statements for all outland coprs.. Rather than asking everyone to raise a webform.. If can't travel..

Just some (on-topic) humor to lighten the mood and hopefully give some people a smile at my expense. Before India went into shutdown, I came down on a week's leave to visit my family in a different state from where where I work. So right now, I'm in one state and my passport is in another state and there's no inter-city travel. :D

We have no idea what they will do. For seniors a year and 6 months may make a big difference in their health status. CIC will announce what they will do for those who can prove that they were unable to travel once the border open again for everyone. Everyone who can travel is still expected to land.
you need to STOP giving advises. You have been misinforming people. Every time I read a bad advise I look and it's you who is posting. STOP.

Ok I reread it. For certain PRs if Medicals are expiring they will be reassessed for 6 months. Would anticipate that some may be asked to repeat a medical if they had concerns about their health when it came to excessive demand.

They also give some extensions if the time to land is very short during regular processing.
STOP giving advises. Everything you are saying is wrong. I am not going to correct everything you say, rather I advise people to stop reading posts from you and I will report you to the administrator. I should probably report you to the authorities too for spreading fear and advising people to travel before their visas expire or they will risk losing their visas and status when everyone should avoid all non essential travel and STAY HOME

Seniors are likely to have more complex medical needs so they may be asked to repeat medical more often than younger people who will likely be granted an extension right away.
NO this is a bad advise too. STOP.

Could I get a clarification on this please? Are these landing appointments the same as flight-landings for outland applicants?

Landing appointments will be held by telephone, if possible

We cancelled all in-person permanent resident landing appointments until further notice. All landing appointments will be done by telephone whenever possible. Otherwise, we’ll reschedule them for later.
We’ll contact you by email to let you know when your phone appointment will be. Use the Web form if you need to update your contact information.

no this is for inland processing. Outland remain as is, you will need to travel to Canada, for now.

I’d rather have individuals post replies that are “ Real “,versus people posting Pollyanna replies.
If someone’s medical has expired by six months or a year , do you actually think they won’t be required to have a updated one ?
Seriously? And btw , it’s not advise , it’s advice
